RULE 1 - DO NOT hold up signs with requests on them and stick them in the DJ's face as he's playing a set. You might as well be writing "YOU SUCK" on that paper instead.

RULE 2 - If a DJ is facing the turntables, that means he's busy mixing, adjusting the volume, etc. If you really must bother him to ask if he can send a shout out for your boy's birthday, wait until he at least goes to grab another record.

Seriously, take this piece of advice from a guy who spends a lot of time in DJ booths.

1 is worse than you think....

ive seen the dj's facial expressions when signs like that come out. It's never good.

RULE 3 - Just because you're of Asian decent does NOT mean you can push people as you please

No Jay, I'm serious, I sometimes want to hold up a piece of paper with the song name on it if I'd like to hear a classic, but only if the tune was produced by the DJ that's spinning... Is that out of line?

well most likely in that case the dj will probably play it.

seriously guys, it's not even a question of being a right or wrong thing, the fact remains that ive seen for myself that the reaction from whoever is behind the decks is never a good one.
