My best advice is to go to www.smartserve.ca and get your certificate. This will allow you to work in just about any restaurant as a waitress, and even part-time, you would be surprised at how much a waitress can make in tips alone.

Great way to meet people too :D

Also, if you aren't interested in getting the certificate (although it comes in handy and I SERIOUSLY recommend getting it,) you can check out Cafe Bon Choix when you get into town. They are hiring and do not require the certificate. Good place to get your foot into the waitressing door too :)

I learnt the hard way that no restaurant in Waterloo will hire without that damned certificate. It's cheap, and it is an easy course. Definitely worth it.
