No there isn't. Forgiveness is forgiveness, which you obviously don't understand.

I stand by my first statement.

;)

Is it not possible to forgive someone and at the same time punish them? America doesn't have the right to "forgive" Tookie, that falls upon the families and individuals whose life he destroyed. It's America's job to make sure that punishment is exacted for those who kill innocent people and to protect the founding father's framework as best it can.

If you're saying that forgiveness means you can't punish people then you create lawlessness and society falls apart completely. If you're saying that punishment can be carried out, just not the death sentence, I think that's a totally valid argument.

Look, I'm not going to argue with you guys, because you CLEARLY don't understand what forgiveness is all about...and I'm not going to cast my pearls before swine. Perhaps I'm not articulating enough, but the point I'm trying to make is obviously over your heads.

Bye!

Would I forgive Hitler, Saddam, and Stalin? Yes. And if you understood the concept of forgiveness, you'd understand why EVERY person is worthy.

You'll have to figure that part out for yourself.

care to explain the concept of forgiveness? cause you do not make sense
present your case for all 3
i wan't to know why

is 1 life worth more than 6 million? (hitler)
is 1 life worth more than 2 million of his own? (stalin)

and we all know what saddam did

if everyone deserved forgiveness we would not be human

As for people disagreeing with "Arnie", the decision was not his to make.

5 seconds of googling directed me to this website: http://www.cjpf.org/clemency/California.html

Summary: The governor of California can grant a pardon to any inmate (death row or otherwise) at any time. This pardon must be approved by the state Supreme Court.

Therefore, in the hours leading up to the execution, it was most definitely Arnold's decision to make.

As a card carrying member of the ACLU and member of Amnesty International, I'd like to point out to non-Americans that not all of us are blood thirsty supporters of the death penalty.

Not to nitpick or anything, but more than 11 million people were killed in Hitler's concentration camps. Stalin personally caused the wrongful death of something like 20 million people.
