| Mets traded Xavier Nady for Oliver Perez and Roberto hernandez. Xavier is such a key bat in the lineup and Perez is trash...bad trade |

Oliver Perez is trash!
Stole this from the ESPN chat, he's given up 6 HRs in 32 IP in Triple-A and just gave up 8 runs in 1/3 of an inning in his last start.
Enjoy... |

as I figured... no big deals on the deadline day... same old story.....
I'm glad the sox didn't get stupid and trade for Soriano... no room for his ass... and why even bother with the guy... I would have liked Andruw though... just cause he's a showboater in CF....
And today shows that Roger Clemens does in fact run the Astros front office...
why is the National League such a trainwreck... Reds, D'Backs and Brewers top 3 in the Wild Card.... what a disgrace... |

:haha: :haha: :haha:
I love the Nady for Berto/Perez trade. Nady was nothing special and not much better than Chavez/Edge will be and not even close defensively. Perez could easily turn it around. Remember, he's only 24. Good trade by Omar.
This trade also further shows that Omar and company have the tightest lips of any teams front office. Omar got word of Dirty's accident at 2AM. If word got out, he would've had to give up a lot more to recieve relief help. |

actually it's the Giants in 3rd in the Wild Card race
it looks like the big trades (Abreu, Carlos Lee, Sean Casey) will make the NL even weaker
as it is now, only 5 teams in the NL are over .500 |

"Perez was 2-10 with a 6.63 ERA in 15 starts for Pittsburgh this season before being optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis on June 29. In six minor league starts, he was 1-3 with a 5.63 ERA. He releases pitches from all angles and arm slots, and that leads to big variations in his velocity. He was regularly in the 97 mph range in 2004, but now often drops into the high 80s."
At least his WHIP was good this year at 1.83. That's probably the worst whip on the planet.
Sorry I'm not buying. Still, Nady isn't special anyway and Roberto H can be a decent middle guy to replace Dirty. I'm not saying that it wasn't a good trade. Just I think Perez is garbage and I'll stand by that. |

don't you just enjoy how people love to ride one player's hype, just because he had "one magical year". haha. i can't say much about perez, since he has done garbage since 2004. Injuries has plagued this man. |

lol...ummm its the PIRATES... of course its going to demoralize its players... they don't win...
whenever I think of the Pirates I always think of one name: Kevin Young - he was like the stud on the Pirates for all those years... but he sucked... he wouldn't be anything on any other team in the MLB back then... I think that sums up the Pirates for me... and always will.... |
