yeah, it sounds like part of the track. it doesn't sound awkward or anything to me - not like its skipping or anything.

Potential flame bait...?

I actually found the first disc of this quite pleasant. That second disc though... ugh...

Actually, since he gives his own new anthem the spotlight at the end, I may as well give it the review spotlight here as well. It’s as though Armin, still trying to create that one classic that will be played forever and ever, took a look at every single major hit in the past and fused them all together. The melody is super-stupidly simple, pretty much hitting single notes on every beat and played with just about every kind of sound you’ve heard in epic trance. You get bleepy synths that made PPK’s ResuRection the smash it was; you get plinky pianos that made Children the hit it was; happy-go-lucky rhythms which are vintage Ferry Corsten; and, of course supersaw breakdowns, sure to bring back Rank 1 memories. And that’s just the first ing half! I’ll admit I have a soft spot for the voice pads, but Armin kills it with a horribly distorted synth sound in a second breakdown, which reminds me of Tiësto’s take on Adagio For Strings in sound, and The ing Launch in ‘melody’, of all damned things. To complete the idiocy of trance clichés, he brings in stuttery supersaws alongside the distorted synth once the beat returns. What is this, epic trance meets hardstyle? Christ... Either this is meant to be a ‘tribute’ to the Glory Years of epic trance that totally missed the mark, or a very, very sick joke.

wowww, lol. i haven't heard this song but that review is hilarious. usually i like most of armin does... didn't like shiver's much or birth of an angel tho.

listening it right now, to be honest. i'm a bit dissapointed. nothing really special on their for me, bleeh...

i do like that remix of controlfreak, hehe... nice for the clubs!

I listened to the 2nd disc (in the club) yesterday and it wasn't too bad. The only problem i have with Armins mixes, any of them, is that although the tracks themselves are always top notch, the mix as a whole tends to be pretty bland and boring. Just the same bass beat over and over through the whole mix, with like slightly different synth stuff soemtimes. Almost like his mixing is TOO good :P.

It's his Ableton mixing. The program's cool, but, (not to bash Ableton users) the mixes do sound kinda bland bc the bass sounds the same throughout the mix.

Check out ASOT 250 from last week when Armin and all the other guest DJs are only using TTs and CDJs. Sounds a lot different.

Hey guys, just to check out with you whether do u guys find that there's a defective part in the third track on CD 1's Leon Bolier & Elsa Hill - No Need To Come Back. The defective/distortion part starts from 2:22 and lasted to 2:28 of the track. Do u guys experience the same thing? Any idea?

It's part of the track mate.

LeonB
haha yeah indeed, thats part of some weird automated distorted reverse delays ;)
