listen to armins 001 A State of Trance from 2000 and 002 Basic Instinct and why not 004 Transparance. Two outstanding mix comps that can give any Tiesto compilation competition.
Besides, Armin is a much better technical dj. |
Armin might technically be the better of the two, Tiesto is way better in building sets and giving emotion to his sets. Armin's transitions sounds dull and boring, while Tiesto's sound more alive.
ISOS 1,2, 3
Magik 5,6
Are better than any compilation Armin ever made (the only mix cd that might match these is Boundaries of Imagination, but that's because the load of classics on it:p ). |

That's only true for you though m8. Arguing about who's compilations are better than whoever else's is pointless, because it's always going to come down to personal preference.
I personally have absolutely hated almost every set and compilation I have ever heard from Tiesto, and in contrast used to be a total Armin whore and really enjoyed a lot of what he put out.
Bottom line: Different strokes for different trance crackers ;) |

Its funny to see, how quick people think a track is "old" ...Most tracks on these CD's are still unreleased for the mass. |
I said the wrong thing tbh. I think really up front tracks should be on a compilation and a couple of monsters ive never heard before.
However wot gets my goat with Armin just now is how boring and predictable he has become when he used to be amazing. This tracklist shows you what has went wrong with Armin. Go listen to a set or ASOT from 2004 then tell me this is comparable because its NOT.
Armin's own style is different from then now too. I just dont like the direction he has went in. Its all too commercial and for the masses. Id still go see him live because of the atmosphere he generates but i dont dance and go crazy through the whole set like i used to |

once again listen to 004 Transparance. the way armin starts off slowly with the chill tunes and goes on harder is awesome. |

| Just stating an opinion. As good as Boundaries and the 00X series were, Magik, Summerbreeze and ISOS walk all over them. But lets not turn this into a flame war. As RJT said, different opinions, different backgrounds. I personally grew up on Magiks and ISOS. |

| Tracklist looks solid. Of course if you listen to ASOT each week, these tracks look familiar. But there's some good ones on there. |

i don't know 90% of the tracks on here (i don't listen to much trance lately... hinders my creativity when producing) but i have no doubt i'll like, as i notice some good artists on there... really interested in that envio track.
