Well, basically your contribution has been either:
"Minimal Sucks"
Which you implied when you agreed with Placebo's lengthy rant, or:
"Minimal is good and has it's place"
Which was implied by the ever class "Woooooord" post in agreement Protege... So which is it?
Beyond that, the excuses you chose to make for Steve and Sebastian were only mildly amusing at best... I just re-read the entire thread looking for a firm contribution from you and found relatively little that was worthwhile. |

I never said minimal sucks... Everything has its place. Sorry that my excuses for Steve & Seb are only "mildly amusing."
Idk, you sound a little hostile now, especially considering the starting post in this thread... |

Scooter doesn't have chipmunk voices. Only over-the-top German shouting. |

Ok, I apologize for misunderstanding your "Placebo FTW" post - Considering the entire post you quoted was a "minimal is garbage" rant, what was I to think?
And beyond that, I'm not hostile, hardly that, I'm just tired of my point/motivations being misinterpretted, and honestly, I've been sitting in front of a screen typing about Communism for 4 days now - a break to make any kind of mindless post on TA, regardless of it's inflection, is a break no-less.
Edit: And the first post wasn't meant to be inflammatory - It's an honest review of this horrendous tune. |

I think RJT was trying to defend the fact that he doesn't just like a track because of who makes it, but rather the actual track itself. My rant was not specifically targetting a certain individual, but rather the sheep who think songs are great just because of the producer. I was just trying to make a point that if this song had been made by a more "respected" minimal artist, it wouldn't have received nearly as much flack, but obviously it is impossible to prove my point. You just have to compare this to other songs that are simliar to it, and unfortunately alot of Holden's, and other minimal artist's tracks follow this exact same formula. Albeit, some stuff is going to be produced better than others, but when you break it down, all of it is quite simliar. That was the point I was trying to make, and sorry if I pissed anyone off, but I hate fanboys and elitists. |

lol.. ok i gotcha'. I take it you're typing it for school? Good luck with it man. :)
And yeah, with the "something is sh**" arguement. I never believe that. While i don't necessarily enjoy most minimal. I believe it works well as warmups and such like that. It's nice to just groove to at home while... perhaps writing a paper? :p I posted in that DJ overappreciation thread that Nou and Jake started last week, that every piece of music has its place. Without Tiesto, i wouldn't be listening to dance music. Without minimal, my brother wouldn't be listening, and he was the guy who got me into this stuff. So I mean everything works together. Nobody is utter crap, and nobody should cease to exist. Don't mean to get all deep here but everyone should understand that :p

And the only point I was trying to make is that I don't feel I'm either :)
Personal preference is understandable - But there are a great many people who could go on at length for why this is siginificantly worse than Holden's remix of "The Darkest Star" or "Get Together" (A Holden mix, that BTW, I don't particularly care for.) |
