Lasers and sound were top notch imo. Sound was pretty loud and also clear sounding. I was hoping it would be better than the usual CP setup. Sound is just never good there for some reason. All in all, hanging out with NYTA's. PRICELESS.

+1

love this part of ur review, the NYTAs DEF made the night *special* no doubt about that. A lovefest <3 Remember when we were all chillin' in the Beer Garden? Mere and I were saying that we could have just sat there all night...listening to Armin spin...it was just SO serene under the stars...but of course we headed back in during the last half hour

then again i was SOO *happy* to be in a DIFFERENT/outdoor venue i probably would have been able to forgive any shortcomings lolz. i didnt drink so i didnt care about the beers/prices, and i danced all night long both Friday and Saturday so im more than satisfied...:tongue2

this event was falsely advertised - did anyone even see the in' brooklyn bridge or the city????????? NO!!!!!!!!!!! that tent was in' stupid - when it was clear that it wasn't going to rain it should have been taken down.

the beer garden in a separate room was another dumbass idea - no vibe in that area and if you liked a track and wanted to dance you had to chug your beer in order to get into the other room.

the bathroom lines - don't even get me started.

and the bass on saturday night was way too loud - the sound was horrible.

i'm not a huge trance fan anymore, but at i wanted to at least experience a good party but that has to be one of the
worst parties i have ever been to.

Maybe you shoulved taken more E.

:conf: :conf:

We stayed until the end. I really tried to force myself to have a good time right until it ended. And at what time were there that few people there besides when they weren't even open. We got there at 5:15-5:30 and it was already pretty crowded. The first time I went to the bathroom, at like 7, the line was the shortest, and I still waited over 10 minutes.

Also, the sound was really bad in a lot of different places. We did find pockets where it was good, though. Also, there was a delay in the sound between the inside speakers and the speakers in the beer garden. That's not cool either, because when you walked between, there was a jump or lag, depending on which direction you were going. It was like the CD got fast-forwarded.

I think she means that you couldn't see any of the advertised sights while looking towards the stage. I have been to events like what I expected before I read Friday night's reviews. Radiohead at Liberty State Park in Jersey, with the Statue of Liberty in the water behind the stage comes to mind.

I would like to know what your favorite events are, because I cant believe me and you went to the same exact place and had such a different experience, the lines for bathrooms always suck at outdoor events (see woodstock, laalapolooza etc) Armin was mixing great and if any trance fan who was not there just looks at some of the track lists being posted they would see its nothing but great music, I mean Im reaaly shocked to see that so many people are on opposite ends of the spectrum, some like me thought it was the greatest event ever, others say it was so bad they had to leave early. All the people I ran into from this board seemed to be having a killer time (never got a chance to meet groundhog)the beer garden was cool because it gave people a chance to unwind and meet other people, $6 beers is way cheap, try Crobar or better yet Yankee Stadium ($9 beer). Boy I wish I could have hung out with those who had a bad time just to see what went wrong, I agree there were problems, but all outdoor events on trhis scene have liitle things go wrong, I kind of find it par for the course. reading some of these negative posts makes me really shocked!!!

that venue has so much potential - yes - i did look up and see the brooklyn bridge - with the tent in the foreground. the event could have been anyplace cuz when you looked at the dj stage all you saw was the dj and the tent - if the tent wasn't there the view of the dj with the brooklyn bridge in the background would have been incredible.

i guess i just have higher expectations for a party and not willing to settle for anything less - especially when it was advertised as "2 days/nights in the open air with one of the city's best views of the manhattan skyline" the flyer should have said "2 days/nights inside a tent and if you want to see the skyline you have to go out to the grass/picnic area"

i have a better view of the manhattan skyline from my apartment

can't please everyone... sorry u didn't have a good time. the only negative, and i can't even call it that, is once or twice during the middle of the song, the bass volume levels dropped drastically and people kind of stood around confused for a few seconds. i didn't find one thing wrong w/ the nite... oh, except the beer. bathroom lines were fine when i went.

nice meetin u randomly on the street yan... had a blast!!!!!!! also think i spoke to big mike on the walk back to the subway... been starting to talk to and meet TAs randomly at parties... i was wearin camo shorts and a tshirt w/ a sub sandwich and cape on it.. said "super hero" and black/red sneakers

Seriously the only thing that was kinda bad with this event was the stalls, but thats to be expected. I loved the setup that you had a seperate area to drink/eat and then a seperate area to dance. I love the whole area by the water.

I had a blast both nights, my only complaints are that the sound kept going out on friday, it was hot as hell inside the tent on saturday, and that sat felt more like Best Of Friday than a whole new day, but then for the last 1.5 to 2 hours he just cranked it out. I also managed to get the last of the signed posters. :p

Oh, and after the Saturday show I ran into my favorite Armin fan while walking back the the subway, the guy who always shows up with the goggles, so crazy, I love that guy.

Edit: How the hell did i forget this, one of the friends I went with got armin to sign his shoe, and another got one of the Control Freak vinyls they were handing out signed.
