New album coming out from the eclectic electronic producer...FINALLY. There is a preview here at resident advisor with some interesting quotes (like always).

“What I want to do is make electronic music that feels more human and more live – just letting the machines malfunction and me be barely in control of them”

’The Idiots are Winning’

1. Lump
2. Quiet Drumming Interlude
3. 10101
4. Corduroy
5. Flute
6. Idiot
7. Lumpette
8. Intentionally Left Blank
9. Idiot Clapsolo
10. Quiet Drumming

Release date is still a bit unknown. It's October 30 according to progressive-sounds and December 4th from the article above.

:haha:

Would have done the same thing myself... James has gotten a bit preachy lately, eh?

In any event, I'm still looking forward to the album - Hopefully the majority of it will be absolutely nothing like "Sun Spots," though I will say that I'd probably get some kind of twisted satisfaction if this just turned out to be an album of utterly "not minimal" minimal that Holden seems to have taken a liking to...

Sounds like what Eno wanted to do and did with the 'Discreet music' album.

Looking forward to this, though over the past couple of years Holden has gone off the rails a bit, at times making boring processed noise. Before this his productions had clever processing with excellent riffs / vocals - such as 'Nothing', 'I have put out the light' etc.

Fingers crossed for this album.

Indeed. I hope it's either great or goes so over the top in weird & minimalism that I can get a good laugh out of it.

...at least he's not claiming that political messages are rampant in the sounds of two slices of bread hitting one another  .
Phortastic
This is not really an album, more a collection of things he has been working on over the past few years. An artist album is probby coming next year...

"Please note this is NOT James full artist album and is merely a collectible collection of songs available ahead of his debut artist album on Border Community which is likely to be released next year. Available on CD and 2LP 'The Idiots Are Winning' is scheduled for release 20/11/06."
