So... is this what we have been waiting for? Would you take it? Would you insist your partner take it? Hmmm... |
Actually I have been waiting, for what 5-6 years now? I remember them announcing the creation of these pills at the turn of the century, and said it would take up to 10 years to conclude long term testing. |

I think a lot of men underestimate what the pill does to you. |
Like breast cancer (high dose pill anyway).

From that perspective, male contraception is probably a very good thing. |

I always just wear a condom. Even if my girlfriend decides to take the pill, I'm not going to take a chance with STDs or pregnancy, so will always wear a condom anyway. There is no point in using something that can potentially have negative side effects when there is a simple solution: wear a condom. |
You just nailed the way I view the situation EXACTLY, Graham!
Exactly. |

me too
I can't take the pill, over the years I have tried 11 different pills, the injection and the patch and they all make me murderous!
It is about time that the responsibility in long term relationships can be shifted, especially as it appears to be far less invasive. |

Actually, I'm in the same boat. I've been waiting for what seems like way too long to have this tested and deemd safe for men. I have had too many gf's that I know were never good with taking the pill and I'm sure one or two of them wouldn't have minded getting preggo too much if it meant they could keep me forever. (I know this sounds cocky but it's scary as when you realize you're in one of those relationships despite them telling you otherwise for months). If they could convince me that the risks were minimal and side effects were low then I would be on this tomorrow. I would then pitty the girl that comes to me saying she's pregnant if I try to break it off...
"hahaha sucka! I'm on the pill. that kid ain't mine biatch! later."
I've also seriously looked into the ability to get a reversable vasectomy, but they still can't guarentee a success rate on that yet so forget it. |

The birth control pill works because women have a vested interest in taking it everyday at the exact same time.
Men just aren't as close to the cause ---> effect as us gals are, and for that reason there's not a chance I would trust a man to have 100% responsibility for the birth control. Not.a.chance. |
I love how you're the first to defend and preach women's rights to everyone but you're also the first to attack the intelligence and respectability of men.

It'll never happen unless it is somehow developed that males will actually be able to perform the birth of a child. Even so, that's really pushing the laws and morals of science and genetics. |

The woman is the one who gets pregnant, in case you missed your grade 7 health class. As a woman, if it is MY body, I would not trust someone else with it - male or female.
Don't put words in my mouth. |
