im talking more about our unjust child custody laws and the unfair burden it places on men. |

The woman is the one who gets pregnant, in case you missed your grade 7 health class. As a woman, if it is MY body, I would not trust someone else with it - male or female.
Don't put words in my mouth. |
just like men shouldnt trust a woman who says shes on the pill. Especially with the "milk em dry" male ATM laws that we have on the books these days. |

I get the feeling that you are "fighting the good fight" for the sake of something to complain about.
I will agree that there are some problems with the way the system is in regard to custody and child support etc. but it isn't always against the man. Personally, I think a lot of the time women get the shaft more often than the men do. |

no way.. if anything this is a very personal matter. Not for me but for some of my family members and friends.

Yes, becoming a parent will be a blessing when I choose that I want to become one. Not when a girl decides she's going to lie about taking the pill so that I get her pregnant and will therefore never leave her. |
Graham, I love you but you are brutally cynical! We don't live in Melrose Place, you know!
In fact, the only place that seems to happen is the town where Jeff is from.... |

Some call it cynical, but I call it realistic and cautious. These girls do exist. I've worked too hard for what I have now, and am not willing to give up what I want in life for a marginal increase in pleasure. |

Think about the thousands upon thousands of women who are abandoned by the father of their kids, expected to take care of them all by herself. What about the women who cannot get child support from the fathers because they deny being the biological father, or not having any enforcement to be sure that they do pay their share?
When it comes to who gets screwed over more when it comes to kids, I would have to say it is more often the women. We're left with the physical burden, often left with the financial burden, the emotional burden, and men can get out scott free and take off with nothing to worry about.
Like I said, I agree that there are many cases where men get shafted, but if you look at the big picture, I think women are the victims most of the time, and I can understand the judicial system being inclined to take the mothers side, seeing as there are tonnes of dead-beat dads.
If a father feels like he is getting screwed in a custody hearing, he should fight for it. Obviously if it means that much to him, it should be worth it. |
