Guys set their standards high because, hollywood... society... friends... family... tell you to. Since child birth your parents tell you youre beautiful and special. Your friends help you pick up a taste for women, most of which are superficial and for the most part unattainable (Baywatch & Pam Anderson was my generation :p). Your friends have hot girlfriends, what do you do, go out and try to get yourself a hotter girlfriend. It becomes a subconscious thing at some point. Some guys come down to reality, some stay in the clouds.
The whole being of a relationship as an adolescent is a competition of who has the hottest girl and who has ed the most girls. |

i meant make up your mind, because you were slightly contradicting yourself in your post. either way, i am sorry, you do NOT have to "apply yourself" to seem non-retarded. you need to apply yourself to get good grades, to be a good doctor, to mix sets like none other. you do not need to apply yourself to be able to hold a decently-levelled conversation on a subject other than hollywood - thank you Ivand - or shoes or that bitch from the other class, and actually be able to hold a coherent point of view in it, without flipping out and getting all emotional.
again, i'm not saying this is you. i'm not saying this is all women. i'm not saying most men are smarter than most women.
both genders have to mutually understand how much they suck.
however, and in favor of the guys, i've only met a hanful of women in this country in MY LIFE with which i can actually hold a discussion. it's very rare. while also rare within the males, there are a bit more. this country sucks. |

Inertia, I'm not disagreeing with anything you're saying at all, I totally agree. I never said or meant that Women are better than men, because when it comes down to it, we equally suck, rock, whatever. What I have noticed is that men tend to be simplier and more relaxed, while women are more hyped up and chaotic. NO NOT all girls, but majority yes. I try not to be, but I just try not to be anything, just be me. I'm hated for it, loved for it, respected for it as well as dis-respected for it...and I don't care lol!
Maybe media does play a huge part of how we are, but in all honesty if someone lets the media run them, or play with thier minds they have no self control, which I hate,. |

The funniest thing about this is... I cant have any kind of conversation AT ALL with American girls. But girls from other countries, no problem at all to strike up a conversation. Im sorry, but girls in the US are so ing dense its saddening. |

Granted, but you should be able to talk about more than just fashion, which celebrity couple is on the verge of breaking up and why youre depressed about some TV show at 9PM.
Personally, I thrive on knowing alittle bit about everything... but alot of women have one track minds, and it becomes difficult to carry on a conversation beyond some point. And than once you reach THAT point, you start talking about the one thing both people should know about... sex. Once youve reached that point, you have officially run out of topics to talk about. |
