Um... NYC needs a club like Nation, DC. |
hmm i could so agree -- too bad its doors are forever closed ;/
no dress code
awesome vibe
awesome sound GREAT lights
no *pretense* whatsoever
friendly friendly friendly (did i mention friendly?) ppl
insomnia was like that too from memories past (r.i.p) :(
___________
i even went down to visit some friends this past spring in VA...ended up hitting a mixed party at Nation(edm-ish in the smaller room/d-n-b party in the main room) and it was really awesome, thats how GREAT that place was...ppl who never hit up nation missed out, definitely...im sure that it was MUCH greater back in the day too...esp with the parties mentioned...
unfortunately NATION is now forever closed. Buzz is SUPPOSEDLY brining it back in Baltimore but even that remains to be seen... |

could you explain WHY? What would a club like Nation bring that would help out the scene in NYC? Does it occur to you that not everyone who browse this forum has been to Nation? |
nyc (underground/unpretentious) venues even resembling Nation lost OUT to the masses/mgmt/money grubbing owners a LONG time ago. its too bad. but hey money/business talks...and places keep on opening and closing down... |

Yea Crobar sucks..You have a place where Trance (or maybe any other genre for the big names) can be played in New York? Pacha? For how long do you think? Crobar closing to me looks like losing DJs coming to New York..They have less options now...Avalon is gone..And Spirit is practically gone for EDM I think...Pacha is really the powerhouse club left..Boo. |

and Crobar is always packed to the brim. |
The past two times I've gone there, it's been pretty empty. |

throwing up in the corner next to the speaker doesn't mean the entire club is empty, thats just cuz everyone cleared out of the way from the projectile vomit lol
