Yea Crobar sucks..You have a place where Trance (or maybe any other genre for the big names) can be played in New York? Pacha? For how long do you think? Crobar closing to me looks like losing DJs coming to New York..They have less options now...Avalon is gone..And Spirit is practically gone for EDM I think...Pacha is really the powerhouse club left..Boo.

I 100% agree. Losing Crobar = Losing Headlining Djs. What..u think Sasha and Tiesto who love playing at Crobar will play in Pacha? Hahaha..good luck on that.

Umm... if that's the only big club left, they very well could. Sasha has played at Pacha Ibiza and Pacha Buenos Aires. Crobar didn't even exist until 2004, and Sasha and Tiesto played at lots of other NY other venues before that.

...and just cuz JP plays Pacha NYC doesn't mean he will be playing Pacha Ibiza or Buenos Aires in the future

Um, no, NYC needs a club like Guvernment. end of discussion.

JP rarely spins outside of New York, let alone internationally, but if he did I'm sure he'd have no problem booking gigs at the other Pachas. My point is Sasha and Tiesto don't necessarily limit themselves to one club chain like Crobar, which cl005k was implying.

I think it's funny how some of you think that you can recreate clubs from other cities in NYC, as though the actual club and management is what makes or breaks the club. It's the people, and if you don't import different people like you find at those clubs in other cities, you're not going to have a similar place.

Why not both?

hopefully Stereo will fill the void somewhat..and dunno if this is even possible, but what are the odds of another club chain settin up shop in nyc? like Space?

there was a rumor floating around bout Mansion taking over the old Exit building

I think everyone is jumping the gun on this - big time.

Crobar is still doing fantastic business, and it's other franchises in Miami & Chicago have shown they have long-term endurance. I was at Crobar Chicago on a Weds over the summer and the place was going off, I couldn't believe it.

Crobar is also a big part of why NYC's dance scene has re-appeared in the last 3 years. NYC still has a long way to go and the closure of it's largest house/trance/techno dancefloor would be a serious blow.
