In saying that, I will probably find myself looking at this tomorrow when I am sober and apologising to him. Oh well. |
normally i find your posts hilarious and you usually insult people where its 100% deserved
here however you're just being ing closed minded and...dare i say...ignorant?
i've seen every episode of both and i'm gonna say overall i like 'the american version more, though honestly it holds better as it has actual character development and other things
ricky gervais may be funny, but for s sake another one of his recent shows 'extras' was just the EXACT SAME as the office, except in a slightly different setting; he's ing hilarious, but only to a point, it gets old
i'd rant more but i got a tea party i gotta get to |

| The UK version is hands down one of the funniest things I've ever seen on TV. Don't enjoy the US version even half as much. |

The American version of this is one of the test things I have EVER seen. And no, this isn't just another pointless dig at the Americans for s and giggles. This is just a case of 'it is what it is' and what this is, is rather . |
+1 to that!!!!!!!!!!
I stuck on the Christmas Special DVD last night as I was wrapping presents. Made me lol! Quite possibly one of the most subtle, clever, intelligent, well-done comedies the BBC has ever done.

It's because you're American and don't get the humour (unless it's plastered across walls and shoved in your face). You will find some Americans preferthe BBC version, but I'm pretty sure you'll NEVER find any British people who prefer the American version to the BBC one. The US one just took a great show and watered it down for Americans to understand, and in doing so, ruined it. Carell is as funny as walking on hot coals. |

HA, that actually was kinda funny, because I realize I do start a lot of help/recommendation threads, but I am pretty sure I make note to thank people that help out.

First, the American version might not be a "edgy" as the British version, but to say it is watered down is simply incorrect. It is a unarguable fact that the US version has more depth. The US show actually makes you feel for the characters and their plight, so to say it is watered-down just is missing the point entirely of the American version. Once again, you are in the minority with Carell, so I'll take your opinion with a grain of salt. |

Check out Deadwood. Easily one of the most original and best TV shows of today or the past. Yes, bold statement. |

Tell me this...why do you think there was a need for an American version, if the British version was already hilarious and well received?
Because Americans wouldn't get a lot of the jokes from the original version, so therefore it is WATERED DOWN so you can understand.
And the original version has a lot of depth, anyone that has watched it can't say that they didn't feel for Brent when he was begging not to be made redundant. So much for your 'fact' then. |
