When I first heard of the American version coming out, I cringed.
Ended up buying the first season and thought it was alright.
The second season and beyond.......

The american version of 'the office' is one of the worst things I have seen, horrific... I thought the english version was average.
In my opinion I find British comedies piss all over the american ones.. I definitly have an english sense of humour.. Shows like Friends and the like are just fukin tedious.... Scrubs is the only decent show to come from the states!
Give me - Extras, Alan Partridge, Phoenix nights, Peep show, Shameless, Skins any day of the week,
...And thats not mentioning the classics such as Only fools and horses, Porridge and Monty Python!!!!!

Yank version is quite good actually! The guy who is like Gareth is actually funnier I think.

the brit version is just a bit darker and more cruel...but still managed to be slightly uplifting at the end.
the us version has to be a bit more melodramatic, and the humor less thought intensive, but its still very sharp.

My position is fairly ing predictable on this, so yeah, next point:
Australia's Kath & Kim airs in America on the 8th of October. I'll be interested to see how it goes down, because the whole original series was based not only on Australian style humour, but also on our culture. I really fail to see how it will translate.
