Why the hell are you on this board anyway? You and him? Do you enjoy talking ...or are you just a hypocrite? You say that today's trance is cheese, then why the hell do you continue listening to it? How about you man up, and stick to your word, both of you, and abandon this so called "euro disney cheese." This is trance-addict, you two seem like a little duo out to prove your bull point that trance isn't trance and that people like me give it a bad reputation. Then do us "cheese" listeners a favor and stick to your 80's and 90's trance. |

Because I like trance. Real trance. Question is, why are you on this board?

I don't.

I like this part the most. Just because I made a little comment about ishkur's experience in the scene I'm suddenly his bat-boy sidekick. Now all I need is a pair of tights, a cape, and a silly title. :stongue: |

I started listening to trance back in 1993/94. I grew up in a city where techno and house ruled, but you could still find breaks and a little trance. Given my pedigree I was fond of trance/prog/prog house. Fast forward to 1998-2000 and epic blew up big time. This is about the time that I really started to see a lack of quality releases and digression of the music itself. It was more and more watered down and you had sticks like Corsten/Tiesto/AVB/ATB/Darude coming out destroying what was once a good scene and proliferating ty ass music that they pawned off as trance. I am sorry but there was nothing trancey about epic, and the same goes with prog for the most part. There was some influences in them that trance provided, but mainly they were more house than trance. None of the producers themselves are repsonsible for killing trance. They are responsible for affecting the masses and tricking them into thinking they were dancing to trance. So you have the stupid clubbers/candy kids all pilled out not having a clue wtf is up or down. It's a combination between money grubbers and stupid clubbers that gave legitimate trance music a bad name.
Having said that I will say that the only trance that exists right now is psy-trance. Nothing compares to it. I found it rather confusing as to why psy was barely even broached. It is the only legitimate genre of trance that has survived the bull that the EDM global scene has gone through. This is what keeps TRANCE alive. Now don't get me wrong psy-trance has gone through its growing pains as well. It is a very global music that has tried its best to stay in the underground. Unfortunately the ultra lareg festivals have taken the "mainstream" psy-trance to the ter. So it has had to evolve where the progressive-psy and the dark/twisted-psy is where the most innovation is coming from. Yall might not agree, but you have two choices.....go club land or go to whats left of the underground. |
I agree with all of this. It's just a shame I think Psy-Trance is a load of ing gash - And I always have done.

Are you saying no one on this board/thread has what it takes to make it as big/bigger than Tiesto?
I think that is what you're implying. There are so many producers and DJ's on here that have 100 ing times the skill Tiesto ever had. Just go ahead and take a look into the DJ and Production promotion pages and listen to some . I'd love to see the talent that is on this board get big and some probably will get big in the scene.
That was rotten. I might have taken it a bit to seriously but from how I'm reading it, it was pretty ing rotten.

Funny you should mention that because I was just listening to Psy-T's down the rabbit hole set. |

Lots of people here no longer listen to current trance but still listen to other types of electronic music. This board is a pretty good place to discuss all kinds of EDM, not just trance, so even people who dislike the current stuff often end up sticking around. |

| I don't know about the talent and who produces what and how good it is. It's just amazing how what seems to be "trance" educated people can discard today's trance as garbage. When I check sets, tracks talked about, album releases, etc, I don't see 80's and 90's trance on there. So basically, it's pretty easy to infer that most of the people trash-talking it are listening to it...thus leading them to talk . And I'm willing to put down all I've got, on that you people go to clubs and party -parties in which the DJ's arent playing outdated -. It astonishes me how a group of people can bash and -talk so much. It becomes apparent that you have nothing better to do. And if youre gonna talk about me and ridicule my opinion which I am completely entitled to, then you are just a dishonorable and disrespectful peron which IMO has maturing to do. Don't criticize ignorance and inexperience, when it appears that you have both in abundance. |

That's true...but how bout they leave the trance discussion to those who really listen to it and appreciate the music and go be happy n dandy about whatever type of music they like in another thread. This would surely avoid conflicts such as this one. |
