| Trance will NEVER be mainstream in america. The day that trance is mainstream in america thats the end of all edm. Its also part exploitation on big dj's but its also the demand people have for big djs. |

I thought it died in 2002 :conf:
According to the archives, it did in 03, 04, 05, 06, and 07 as well.
Why does trance have to get killed anyway? Can't it just die naturally? |

Trance is of Egyptian decent...Basically it dies, then they mummify it then High Priest Imhotep resurrects it. Kinda weird :wtf: |

To tell you the truth, there's a lot of trance that to those who really like the early and mid 90s sound, the later 90s and even the early 00s stuff, isn't that much different if you remove the grandiose breakdowns. I've compared some of the early 90s sound that some people talk about on here, and to some of the later 90s stuff, and in the beginning of the tracks and non-breakdown points, it's fast, repetitive with melodic fragments throughout, and this is what has typically been trance music. If you remove the melodic fragments and effects, it really isn't much different than techno. The early/mid 90s sound, from what I gather, is more closer to techno than the later 90s/early 00s sound and the sound of today. It's largely become a genre that sounds much more commerical, melodic and just different..than techno music commonly is.
This happend in the late 90s and this is when those who liked the early/mid 90s stuff that was more underground, stopped liking it or considered it "dead". Now those, like myself, who liked the late 90s and early 00s sound (because that is what I got into) kind of consider it dead because I miss that sound, which still exists but often done much poorer with more forgettable tunes and over-used and predictable sounding breakdowns. And then there's stuff that borders on trance and progressive house, which I do like but maybe not as much as the late 90s, early 00s epic stuff. |
