i donno , his "new 2007 " sound is pretty dark and techy ... i love it, but i have to admit , the last track on his essential mix made me melt :

Yeah, well, you know, to each their own. Not everyone likes what I like, and I can't stand the slow minimal "click-house" sound.
But hey, people like it, and I have wayyyyyyy more than enough dirty bangin tribal, techy, and funky house music that I like, so my ears aren't going hungry any time soon.
Dubfire, however, he's been soul-searching for a while now, and producing some magic in the process. It will be interesting to see what he's doing in 3, 6, 12, months. |

i finally listened to the whole thing and i really really like the direction dubfire has taken lately, i did not give him much credit before and i take my words back jonjon, he's definitely on fire. I saw him live 3 times and i was quite disappointed, he didn't impress me much, too many somewhat played out commercial house tracks and nothing new and exciting, but now i feel and hear some serious ing tunage, (mnml) techno ftw, if he plays like this live then it will be something!
ps. the only disappointment was not to see "DJ Yellow - No More Enemies (Dubfire's Dubstep Re-edit)" on this EM. What a massive tune. |
