CNN has shown this vid about 4 times in the past hour.. talk about oversaturation.. I'm sorry if that comes across as being insensitive. I think other questions have to be addressed, some deeper questions and commentary is needed here.. but that's CNN for ya. I'm switching back to CBC :p |

on another note, do you think that play by play details of tragedies like this are necessary? are they a hinderance or a help? a way of creating community for a grieving nation or a cheap way to boost ratings? i'm torn on the issue. |

The consumers hunger for details.
Why do you think the tabloids get into nitty gritty about celeb's lives, like what they eat for breakfast or what kind of they had in the morning? I think last weekend, one paper had 7 ing pags about Prince William's breakup.
I want relevant information, not the extra stuff that I don't need to know about.

I personally think its the latter. Just a cheap way to boost ratings. But then again, thats what the public wants. Anyone body can report about the details and the situation, but to get the viewers to stay you gotta show people what they want... |
