They love to bandy buzzwords around like they know what their talking about in some inane mad libs exercise.

That's exactly my mind-frame when I wrote my review here, lol. Read my post above yours. I'm done. You totally win.

He hasn't shown any inclination thus far. Though I don't count it out, I seriously wouldn't bet on it. Certainly not at this stage of the game.

I already said fine, whatever the synth it is it sounds similar to trance. I already said this.

And I said you're wrong, and proved it. The end. Thread over.

You didn't prove me wrong when I compared a synth to a trance synth. They're similar and you know it.

Btw, the thread isn't over until I say it's over.

Thread's over.

No it's not. Progressive trance is not dance pop.

It is if it's popular enough. Darude - Sandstorm can be classified as either trance or dance or pop because it's played every ing Saturday at the bar I work at that caters to the masses. No one at this bar really cares what the actual genre of any song being played. They're drunk and don't care to differentiate. And I don't care to differentiate either. That's very educational of you to tell me prog trance isn't dance pop, but it's all called techno, dance, or fag music at my work.

Take that synth and speed it up. Totally works in a trance track. You smell funny.

It works in about 90% of electronic music, including hip hop.

You know what else he used? ....drums. That means he ripped off drum n bass.

No. If i sell a million copies of my progressive trance album it doesn't suddenly mutate into dance pop. Just like no one with a functioning brain would say Pink Floyd were pop rock band just because they've sold hundreds of millions of albums.

It's questionable whether it should be classified as trance to begin with. But one thing that's certain is that it's not progressive trance. It is your (mis)use of the word "progressive" (in "progressive trance") i've adressed the whole time.

We weren't discussing the drunks at your bar, were we? And besides, i think there is an audience slightly more sophisticated than the drunks at the bar, which perhaps could be regarded as a better point of reference.

They love to bandy buzzwords around like they know what their talking about in some inane mad libs exercise. Helps the writing of the articles on music they don't give a about flow much easier. Remember, these are the idiots who gave us "metrosexual" and "electronica" and called 2Unlimited and all eurodance "Techno" back in the early 90s, and you're going to rely on them as the definitive source on what they think trance sounds like?

They probably couldn't even name a trance song (not by DJ Sammy) if you asked them.

It appears to have vanished from their database now, but I remember their review of You've Come A Long Way, Baby constantly labelling the record "trance". Thankfully for the sake of their face, they came across the tag "big-beat" for subsequent reviews, and probably erased the review because it was evidence of how ing clueless they actually are.

Is this a hint that I should delete this thread? I'm not stupid, but I really don't care to put thought into a song I think sucks.
