It's not like EVERY single song played on ASOT was this year is it? I liked Kalopsia a lot.
But the top 20 for last year was very irritating with it's lack of variety. How many above & beyond & armada tunes out of 20 again? |

I do think it's funny that people come on here and bash anything and everything to do with ASOT, Armin, Tiesto..etc. And how people say "only the trance from the early 1990s was REAL trance or GOOD trance"..ignoring all of the countless trance releases over the years that (although subjective) are GOOD and quality. True the trance scene has had it's down times and up times, but this forum (some of the people on here) act like the only REAL trance is the trance they like and whatever isn't this REAL trance (psy noteably) is inferior because it doesn't sound just like it. If all trance sounded like psy, I think I wouldn't even have gotten into trance in the first place.
It would be interesting to see the average age of the people on here and their preference for music styles. It's also funny how people come on TA and wind up NOT liking trance. It's almost like TAA...tranceaddicts anonymous where people who are "recovering trance addicts" or those who want to steer others away from what they love...thrive. Sure you can ignore those who do, but it happens so often..and they sound so scripted. If you don't like ASOT, or Armin...don't post on a thread about them! IGNORE the thread..no one has told you that you have to participate in one thread out of many different ones not on ASOT. You don't need to remind us you don't like it (and this is coming from someone who hasn't listened to ASOT in three years, nor cares for Armin anymore). It's as if people can't talk about trance on here anymore..unless it's specifically what they like. What ever happened to the "trance" in tranceaddict..or is this forum only about 1990 (or 89) to 1997 or so..trance and psy trance? |

one thing that baffles me, apart from why you write overloaded text blocks, is that you constantly believe that those who criticize ASOT in any way are people that are psy freaks. I myself enjoy good melodic trance alot. Sure there aren't as many good melodic trance producer nowadays as it used to be but there are some and they are damn nice. |

Well differences of opinion are fine but the biggest peeve I have with this forum and what it's been for me..is nothing but guys arguing what is better..his trance is better than their trance. When the thread isn't looking for an opinion, there's no need to state your opinion in every single thread dealing with it..interrupting every thread about something you don't like just to state you don't like it (which most people on here who post fairly regularly in the past three or four years should know by now that you don't like it). Sometimes it's better to just let people discuss what they like and leave it alone, rather than try drawing attention to yourself. This board isn't about trance anymore, and it seems when those who do discuss trance that isn't old school or psy..that they are mocked and the trolling begins. |
