I think you have a point. I'm sure theres plenty of different types of nuclear weapons, one meant for, say, the destruction of a city, while another meant for the destruction of an entire country. I hardly have any knowledge of this sorta thing, so your guess is as good, if not better, than mine.
I dont have the physical strength to watch that show, I've heard from many that most viewers dont survive past the first 5 minutes. I dont wanna try, too risky.
Have you seen conanas chuck leaver?

I've caught a few of the lever pulls on a few episodes, always hilarious.

It is interesting to see what people think the monster is.
This one is a lot closer than the one that looked like a whale:

which is totally different than the one that was walking around on all fours! :nervous: :wtf:
Burn Notice
I had a few friends that hate the idea of having a movie with no story about the monster itself. I think it's brilliant to show it from that perspective. Just friends having a good time and boom happens. How are THEY gonna react to it. So the viewer contemplates who they would react to it as well. I rather not have everything spoonfed to me.
I have two theorys for the end. Either the whole Hammerdown was dropping several small missiles at the monster or a nuke which would destroy everything in the city. That last one also means that there would be more then one giant monster roaming the city for them to use a bomb of that size. So the several monsters theory has to be true if they were gonna use a nuke.
It would be nice if the sequal showed the movie from the military side and the desperation from them that they just can't kill it.

God damnit now I feel like I have to go and see it again.
I didn't notice that! Now I have to go see it again too :p
Just got done seeing it before work. Awesome movie! I didn't even mind that all the shots of the monster were shaky and really far away up until the end, I think that made it better. The little guys pretty much looked the same as the big guy. My favorite scene was right before they ran into the subway when the rocket flew up from behind them and hit the monster. Then they took cover and the soldiers were running full pace firing. Felt really realistic.
And Nut, I have to disagree. The thing was more arachnid meets amphibian than anything.
edit // And to everyone asking how that girl survived for "so long"...the movie was shot pretty much in real time. There was no large gaps of time, so really she was only injured for maybe an hour at most. The whole movie was only 90 mins, 10 mins of intro another 15-20 of party stuff...leaves only really an hour's worth of blowing up.
edit 2// just realized the whole thing lasted about 7 hours...nevermind :o

they were reporting it on the news that night.....but the stuff they showed it was light out....so it had to have happened at least the day prior?
It was the same night as the initial attack. The reporter said, "moments before the earthquake that hit Manhattan, a tanker in the middle of the harbor capsized..."

The only disappointing part was the ending, just because nothing was explained.
This is what I hear the most complaining about. Why does everyone insist on having stuff fed to them, can't someone make a movie where nothing is resolved and the audience is just wondering "oh what the ?!"

The entire movie, they tried conventional stuff. Didn't you see the B2 bomber dropping the heavy payloads? Or the tanks in the street firing kinetic armor piercing shells? I'm telling you, a nuke is the only thing that was going to bring the monster down.
Hmm...I saw the tanks and the RPG's...I must have missed the "kinetic armor piercing shells" though :stongue:
And about the two monsters theory, may be possible...I think it's just the one monster being able to walk on all fours or just on it's hind legs to use the front legs to up.
