I was like you once. Confused, scared, felt alone...I had a lot of questions about the movie. I didn't know where to turn. Then, like a beacon of light in the darkness that is Cloverfield appeared this site: Clovierfield Clues

... i watched the movie like a week ago and i have to say i loved it.

and i have a theory about the monster...

i think the monster is a mutated version of a very weird crab, called in spanish ( cangrejo cacerola )

***kinda spoiler***
remember how when they try to run away through the bridge, A TAIL comes out of nowhere and smashes the bridge?.. i think its the tail of this crab... also in the air shot of the monster , before the monster knocks down the helicopter, the back of the monster looks like the mutated version of the crab.

on youtube there is a controversy going on because they say that at the end of the movie when the video camera shows rob and beth on a ride, when rob points the camera to the beach, something falls out of the sky.. and its true, its a black thing, they suspect its some sort of satellite or something. either way there will be a second part xD
***End of kinda spoiler***

My friend forewarned me that the movie was all shaky cam and I HATE shaky cam. But this wasn't really shaky cam like the shaky cam during those fight scenes that pan all over the place and you have no idea who is hitting who. This was just guy holding the cam shaky cam. That's fun. I watch my home videos all the time with me holding a cam so this was like watching a home movie....ONLY SCARY AS !

So does anyone think that was a Sea creature that has to get out of the Sea every hundreds to thousands of years in order to feed on land creatures or burry it's eggs or something?

The monster embodies terrorists. And the fact that NYC get nuked by Americans bombs sounds like a catharsis to purge the latent fear. Imho.

And why the the helicopter didn't go far! Stupidity. And what is that splash everyone is talking about? At the end? Seems I didn't get it.
