Circumcision

There's nowhere for frank discussion of personal issues like the COR, so I thought I'd ask this question here.

I was reading an article in the paper today about circumcision and the arguments for or against. Turns out there's a big group of people including an organisation in the country called "Norm UK" that thinks that circumcision is a terrible thing that should be outlawed. This spokesman for Norm UK was talking about the apparent psychological trauma of circumcision and how circumcised men feel insecure and "disfigured" because they're different to "normal" men. The whole thing struck me as faintly ridiculous.

I was circumcised when I was 5 years old for medical reasons and mostly I've never thought anything of it. It's easier to keep my dick clean and I'm less likely to get STDs or cancer, although apparently sex doesn't feel as good (I wouldn't know, I wasn't getting any at the age of 5 so I can't compare).

At first I thought it was ing ridiculous to say circumcised men have horrible trauma and feelings of disfigurement. But then I remember that a couple of years ago I was quite worried about what girls would react like to knowing I was circumcised. In the end a girl just told me "It really doesn't matter" and that completely killed off my worries about it.

One in six men in the world are (or will be) circumcised, so there must be plenty of you on TA. What do circumcised guys feel about it, and equally what does everyone else (men and women) think?

EDIT: And no anti-semitism or I will ing beat you.

A lot of the research that backed that up was revised and disproven in recent years. Makes sense really - that skin is there for a reason. but really, I don't think it makes any significance either way.

I plan on circumcising my baby boy whenever he comes.

I don't think the trauma is going to affect him if u do it as soon as he pops out.

The argument makes no sense. The reason you cut the skin off is so you don't get foreskin cancer in the first place, just like how you cut off someone's arm so they don't get arm cancer or their nose so they don't get nose cancer. ing duh.

I ran a search and no results came up in the last year for the entire forum.

no noo!

Someday....

But I already made it clear that I want my future baby circumcised. Jewish people are some of the oldest ppl on this earth and none of them seem to be affected by it. So I dont get the trauma .
