step down? sorry but i can't resist it -> HAHAHA continue watching baseball...
Real Madrid 9 Champions League (or old Europe Cup)... Step down... makes me laugh

Real Madrid - Spain - latin people like portuguese - Good weather - Spanish girlfriend - Close to Portugal - Best club around the world - Lovely city - His mother is merengue - He loves taurine art... anything else???

In my opinion, I prefer he continues in Manchester. With 90 milions i will buy Cesc and Villa for example.

What does 1955-1960 (where 5 of the Madrid titles were won) have ANYTHING to do with today? Read my posts where I claim the history of each club is equally gigantic. If history meant anything is this discussion, then why doesn't he go to Nottingham Forest? They won two European titles. Oh because that isn't relevant today?

Madrid last won in 2002. Get over yourself. If Ronaldo was the ultimate competitor he'd stay with Man U, they just won the title and nothing says they can't do it again. Liverpool, Chelsea, Man U all in the final 4. That isn't coincidence. Premier league today > La Liga. If he wants to finish 16th again and enjoy the better city, culture, etc than be my guest go. Trust me, I'd live in Spain WAY more than rainy England. I live a block from the Ocean in Southern California. Man U can buy some real talent with that money as well.

By the way, I love the debates I really do. Keeps me entertained today on a slow day at work. A lot of times I play devils advocate.

Didn't know liking baseball precludes me from liking any sports outside of the U.S. It's the dumbest argument ever. Man U is ing owned by Americans who just won the champions league. Feel it.

3 Champions in 5 years from 97 to 02. it's not bad jeje

I think Liga is the best football league. Premier except the first 4 teams, the rest of the teams have a low level. La Liga Real Madrid and Barça are our best teams but Atlético, Valencia, Sevilla and Villarreal have an interesting teams/players. You can saw last Euro... we love touch the ball. We love FOOTBALL. England can't participate last Euro. We won it. Ronaldo WANTS come to Madrid. it's the reallity. But Cristiano could continue in Manchester (I hope).

But it's not the thread to discusse about this. I respect your opinion above all, but i'm don't agree with you.

See you.

I would hate to see arshavin sign for chelsea and spend the best days of his footballing career on the bench.

Very likely. Hope it's not true.

In international managerial news, the latest news from Europe gives an indication of the direction a couple of the national teams are going in.

 Domenech to stay at France (somehow, with the support of Platini)
:D Del Bosque deal to be finalized for Spain (a great coach with a winning mentality, and he must be raring to go after not coaching for so long)

Terrible news for France. Great news for Spain.

aside from the lulz, I can't think of any logical reason for him to stay on :conf:

Manchester United have described latest reports claiming that a move by Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid is imminent as 'utter nonsense' and insisted that the Portuguese winger is not for sale.

Ronaldo is expected to undergo surgery on an ankle early next week after he was seen by a specialist today and may miss the start of the new season.

United, meanwhile, have been infuriated by a report today claiming that the 23-year-old will sign for Real within a matter of days.

A club spokesman said: 'It is utter nonsense and totally laughable. Cristiano Ronaldo is not for sale.'

Apart from the effect on the team's playing style and formation, it would also send a signal that United are in some way a lesser team than Real. The Glazer family bought United because they viewed it as the biggest club in the world so they cannot afford to been seen as weaker than Real Madrid, one of their biggest European rivals, or in thrall to their star player.
jonze
so because a team buys a player from another team the selling team is considered the lesser team? if you look at it from beckham's point of view then real madrid would be a bigger club. then he left there to go to the galaxy so the galaxy are the ultimate club.
