| Yeah, he's good, but I wouldn't dare for that much money. With Rooney and Tevez in the squad, and Ronaldo scoring as much as he is, why splash out so much for another striker? |

Man Ure don't need Berbatov as he's too similar a player to Rooney and Tevez. What they do need is an out and out goal scorer to fill van Nistelrooy's position which has never been replaced. |

Benzema? |
I think he'd do a much better job but i wouldn't have thought Utd could get him this summer. Jan Klass Huntalaar or Roque Santa Cruz i think would be more accessible options who would fit the bill. I mean with Ronaldo, Tevez and Rooney (with Nani and Anderson too) running rings around defences and then someone to stand in the 6 yard box and put anything in the net that comes near them then that would be a worry for any team in the world. |

Because United dont have a striker. Contrary to what people are saying , berbatov isnt anywhere near similar rooney and tevez.
Rooney and tevez are not out and out strikers and more importantly , are not threats in the air due to their shortcomings in the height department. Ronaldo may have scored 42 last season but that was because he spent about half a game with the ball at his feet and that is what united need to avoid - dependency on a single player. Ronaldo should be what ronaldinho used to be for barca which is to basically take on and beat players and draw defenders to himself and throw in inch perfect passes or crosses that the strikers who are now freed up should put away.
Last season ronaldo had to not only do that but he used to run all the way to the center and then shoot blindly which is what fergie needs to curtail. Personally, i think there are better players out there than berbatov like Huntelaar and Benzema although Benzema has supposedly said he will stay at Lyon till Madrid come for him. Howeverm berbatov would have to do because he is a threat in the air and can score blinders as well as cherry pick which is what we are missing since van nistelrooy left. |
