| Rafa overpaid for Keane by a lot, but the signing was a goo one. Just imagine how more effective Torres will be with Keane as a 2nd strike partner. Of course this is assuming Rafa will stick to a regular squad and not rotate Keane for Torres :toothless |

he could have gotten him cheaper had liverpool not gone around the business wrongly. I see this as bad business as far as I'm concerned because we really need a decent winger on the left after kewell left.
From what i've seen from the pre-season matches.. the full backs doing the overlapping arent arsenal's standards. Our lack of width is disturbing. |

£20.3million??? Premiership transfer market is so bloody inflated. |
Its not inflated. Its a master stroke by Benitez given that United , Chelsea and Arsenal are also in the market for strikers.
Now when the other 3 try to bid 20 million for a world class striker like Huntelaar or Villa , their clubs are going to say - Liverpool shelled out 20 million and got that piece of Keane, are you trying to insult our player who is atleast 3 times better and worth atleast 3 times as much.
Benitez has invented a new scheme to price his rivals out of buying players who would laugh at a move to liverpool - when the price of goes up , so does the price of diamonds |

Your twisted theory could work if your playing a game of Gazillionaire, but this is real money, and Liverpool could have invested it into a good, young player instead of 'that piece of Keane', as you so eloquently put it. I guess we just have to see how it pans out, but I don't think much good could come from it in the long haul. |

Arsenal isn't in the market for a striker, true we could add one to add stability, but the plan from Arsene himself is to add one player at DM and that's it. Ade and RvP will be up fron with Theo walcott as an option and Eduardo will be back quite soon, we were not going to pay 20 mil or more for anyone... we're Arsenal after all :)
Anyway regardless if this is Benitez's scheme, unless he's planning to spend a lot more of Hick's money soon, it's a pretty poor plan to try to overspend to cut the market when you're 4th out of the big 4 and need to buy more than anyone! This so far isn't going to get them past Man U or Chelsea:

It didnt even necessarily need to be a young player. You can get a top striker in his peak for 20 million. Dani Guiza went to fenerbahce for almost half that amount and he was top scorer in Spain last season.
Maybe i missed something about Keane with all the news circulating about what a mouth watering partnership Keane and Torres is going to be. I thought that all Liverpool would get for their 20 million would be 10 goals , 10 somersaults and the occasional irish jig. |

Not a bad idea, just so long as they don't get caught & end up eternally dropping like Leeds ;) |
