Why do Sasha & Digweed both have sh*tty attitude? (pg. 14)

If he played the exact same set as them, and nailed it everyone would say sasha and digweed's was better. Baaaa baaaa sheep. I like dj's but i don't put the on a pedestal.

This is bull, like pretty much everything ive read from you. Sasha and Digweed didn't snap their fingers and become the worshipped DJ legends they are today. They've done their time to get where they are, entertained millions of people and have gained a following along the way because people have walked away from their gigs happy. And they've continuously evolved when it was time to change their sound, with many following their path.

Think about it, they've earned their recognition in a rather low publicity driven music genre. Its purely talent driven, there isnt much of a marketing or hype machine behind these artists, most DJ's have to bust their own backs to build their empire. 15 years of hard work will get you far in an industry where being a notch above the rest gets you recognized.

Talented EDM artists arent born through the board room meeting drawing boards, with the big question "what will sell today? what image can we build Joe Schmoe with the funky hair or funky gear sitting in the next room?" Thats what goes on in majority of rock, pop, and hip hop act assembly lines, to get where they are. Many of which receive the same worship and idolism with very little success and effort. Sure anyone can probably DJ with today's technology, but that doesnt mean you will get gigs, nor does it mean you will become the next Sasha or Digweed or even James Zabiela. Think about it some more, if everyone could commit time to practicing the DJ craft, then logically does that not proportionally raise the bar, by having more runners in the marathon for the same sized prize? Not to mention the growing need of a few hit productions in order to get some attention from promoters that need to see your name is out there already to take the investment of signing you to play at their club, versus DJ's that are fighting for elbow room against hundreds of similarly talented DJ's who have no production talents.

the fact is that most people who worship the ground sasha and digweed walk on had no clue who they were when the were ground breaking and doing things not many others were. They like them for the same reason noobs start with armin and tiesto. They are accessible and easily know. Dj's are dj's he doesn't twist te knobs any differently then the next jackass, and to worship someone for that is wrong.

fag.

I believe in that myself, I dont think anyone should worship anyone at all, unless its someone that saves your life or improves your life. Idolatry is a sin. But as surveyors of EDM music, and patrons of the clubs, it is very reasonable to respect DJ's like Sasha and Digweed. And thats all it should be, a respect.

That said I dont think its hard to understand why fans "worship" DJ's like Sasha & Digweed though. First of all, most of the worshippers are intoxicated, second Sashweed give their crowds a good time with good music, third the placement of the DJ Booth is usually higher than the crowd, on a pedastle of sorts, in which the human psyche translates the object into something greater than themselves. These factors result in the natural "worship" of DJ's. On message forums where people are less intoxicated, not dancing around or having a good time like they would at a venue, and not sitting below the DJ, that type of worship is minimal.

Really?

So you'd prefer to go and see Lindsay Lohan DJ than Sasha and Digweed?

She doesn't twist the knobs any differently, I promise; she's just the same as them.

People worship good DJs because they're good at what they do, just like people worship tennis players or race car drivers for being the best at what they do.

Whether or not it's right is another question.

Why would you go to the gig wanting to see him use the maven, wtf kind of reason is that?

And what do you mean he wasn't using it much, it's what he uses to mix so I think you're just a pilled out tard and Sasha probably told you to off because you motor mouthed some nonsense at him while he was trying to go take a .

Exactly.

Honestly, put up a thick curtain around the booth, and people wouldn't be able to tell whether it was Sasha and Digweed or two other similarly skilled DJs -- lots of them exist, guys, whether you want to believe it or not -- playing similar tunes to whatever S&D were spinning at the time.

I've had lots of fun hearing both of them play, and if I got a chance I'd certainly thank them for a great night, but I'm not going to go out and mob them fanboy style or expect them to answer my questions. That's silly.

Well I've been using Ableton for quite some time now and I KNOW (that is because I am inherently more knowledgeable than you) that he definitely did not use the Maven at its deserved potential.

Tell what the is the point in having the most unique and expensive MIDI controller in the world just to bust out and technically speaking do the same thing that could have been done with a £140 Edirol keyboard?

Huh huh? Tell me...

Clear the crap out of your eyes so you can see that you're full of it.
