Why do you have to see the DJ?
I don't understand why people find the visual spectacle of the DJ all that fascinating. |
Well my opinion is that it's all about movement. Of course I'm not fascinated about the DJ tweaking the bass knob like crazy but seeing the DJ just be and act make the whole experience more unique.
Think about it, would rather listen to a Global Gathering set broadcasted live on BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix on a kick ass sound system or be in the front of the booth at the same event? |

Ok, this last comment makes you a noob. You do know that the "superstar" DJ status is fairly recent in the electronic music world, right ? |
Would you care to elaborate? |

Has it always been like that with them? |
Yeah, actually. Both of them are ridiculously shy, and known for not even smiling while in the booth. |

Digweed yes, Sasha no. Digweed tends to be a lot more introverted than Sasha...but Sasha can be a bit of a diva. If you catch him on a good day, he's quite friendly. I talked to him for a bit on his birthday once, nice guy. I also drunkenly talked to Digweed in the bathroom at a club out here, he's hilarious. |

"The real moment for me was staring down from the [Hacienda] DJ booth one night when Mike Pickering was DJ-ing and suddenly going...
Oh , now I get it, the democracy of the art experience, its everybody - the people who made the record, it's the DJ, it's everybody dancing - and it isn't four guys on a stage with white lights on and everybody in the dark.
What dance music has become is one guy with a white light on him and everyone else in the ing dark, which is precisely how it wasn't meant to be."
