Hmmm, I'd have thought they would be hard to see, you know, especially with them resting snugly on their chin and all.

Talented lot.

he played that song because we connect every time our eyes lock and he jumps up and down while pointing in my general direction. The music sounds so much better when it happens.

sometimes i think dj fanboys must be the same vapid cunts who spend big money to see men in speedos wrestle while they chant their names like fools.

When Digweed played here in a small (300 capacity) club about 2 months ago he rocked the house.

I hate strobe lights with a passion so when this lighting was turning it on n off as he pleased during his set, i wrote a Digweed a message on my phone n showed it to him saying "yo could you get that guy to lay off the strobe. Its , youre awesome, hope you're having fun - we are!". He read it, n wrote back "i know, he's a ing twat".

End of strobe light.

Digweed's a chiller - not a rockstar you needa take photos with. Do you go see a DJ to hear music or get a snap shot with him? Cool, now get over it n enjoy.

lol that was you, good on ya. That had to be the most annoying strobe light ever is it even legal to have them that bright?

Are you kidding me?

People who still live in this fantasy world of "OMG, if you're a big DJ, you've got an infinite amount of money and love your life every single day!" really haven't got a clue.

Dealing with idiots like you in clubs night in and night out would wear even the most resilient of individuals down over time.

Yea that's fair enough and there's no doubt that there's idiots about everything. Still though, there's genuine fans there who make an effort to see the artists/DJs they love. DJs are like celebrities. They may not be Hollywood movie stars but the principle is still the same. They are publicly recognized entertainers.

No doubt the travel schedules can be insane and it gets to them but seriously, is it that hard to put aside 5-10min after a show to have a chat with the fans and take some photos? Some people enjoy that so why not share it with the fans?

As for S&D, I don't feel as sorry for them as others seem to. I'm pretty sure they make plenty of money and other stuff that acts as compensation for their busy schedule. It comes with the job sadly, just like being hounded by Paparazzi comes with being a famous actor. It's part and parcel of the job. You either come prepared for it, or you let it get to you and you burn out. There's worse positions to be in after all.

if there are 3000 fans do you know how many minutes that is? seriously man love the music, the man behind it does little or nothing, its embarassing to them that people would worship them for what they do considering anyone with any iota of drive could do the same (minus the marketing team). They aren't that skilled man, get over it and listen to good charlotte or something.

I think I agree with all of the above, but will say that I've definitely seen Sasha and John both give their fans the "time of day" - just not while they're working. I realize that spinnning records is a lot of fun for a lot of us, but it's also still a job - and for these guys, their livelihoods. I'm reminded of the old adage "I don't come to where you work and slap the dick out of your mouth", and think that kind of applies here - I really can't imagine what it would be like to have dozens of kids begging for your attention in the middle of a set.

The worst I've had to deal with so far is the leftover bitches from the bachelorette party that took place prior to the night I played with Dekay, asking me to play the instrumental version of some god-for-saken tune like "Sweet Home Alabama" so they could do karaoke from the booth.

:wtf:

And I imagine with 20 years on the road, stories like that are a dime a dozen for these guys. I know that for my part, I just completely shut off when someone is bothering me behind the decks - almost like a defense mechanism. So I guess I can't blame anyone else who might be doing the same.

Haha yea, no doubt there's plenty of "tear your eyes out" sort of stories :haha:

Probably not too fair to solely focus on S&D either but I needed an example.

Oh well, I guess people just see it differently. Some care, some don't. At least we can all agree that if the music is bloody brilliant, chances are you're going to have a good time regardless of how much extra sparkle the DJs can add to that :)

Ummm....when have you ever seen all 3000 people want to have pictures taken? I highly doubt that if you take 5min after your set to be with the fans that everyone in the arena will rush to you. If by some chance they do, then either stick around for a bit and leave whenever you want, or hang around as long as you want. It's up to the DJ but can mean a lot to the fans.

Your point isn't true with a lot of big acts anyway. They aren't skilled? Who exactly produced their music then? A lot of DJs get famous because of their productions which do so much more for them than just their live performances and playing of other peoples tracks. There's something that can be appreciated about them.
