Why do Sasha & Digweed both have sh*tty attitude? (pg. 21)

People were making great tech-house, minimal, and techno long before Sasha and Digweed started playing it. In fact many of the artists they are playing now have been making that since they started, so I don't see how you can say that S&D have influenced this big move away from prog and towards techno and minimal tech. If anything they've jumped on the wagon a bit late. Which is fine by me, but I really dunno how you can say that DJs like them really influence the direction music is going.
Beyond that, what LionsLair is claiming, that ALL producers who produce music for clubs driving motivation is to have their tracks played by the likes of Sasha & Digweed, is complete, and utter, bull. Theres nothing to argue about, you talk to any prominent producer right now making music in the vein of what they are playing and that is just not the case. Here's Digweed's latest top 10

I wouldnt call what im saying the obvious, its a slow moving process that is far from obvious. Its only obvious to those who have been listening for a while or have seen a few sounds come and go, and have followed certain DJ's and Producer's individual sounds. Many people, if not most people here probably think it truly is the producer that decides the direction of a DJ's sound because they make the music.
They think producers gave up Prog House and starting making Tech House because they got bored of Prog House and decided it was time to change. In reality, a decent amount of tech house and minimal techno was being made when Prog House and Breaks were at the forefront. Until DJ's like Sasha & Digweed started giving Tech House and Techno attention, causing the Prog House/Breaks producers to dissolve back into the background or evolve forward and take up the new sounds.
Glad to see a few see the same light though. |

Before I read this. I already covered what your saying to an extent in my last post.
Of course tech house and techno was being made in the background while Prog House and Breaks were the rage. But not to the extent it is now, and DJ's werent playing Tech House and Techno to the extent they do now. Now every joe schmoe is playing Tech House and Techno, even bedroom DJ's who were once playing Prog House. Those guys who had been making Techno all this time didnt push any producer or DJ to start taking up Techno, its the likes of Sasha and Digweed and other big DJ's that pushed the sound, and in turn created NEW Techno producers and DJ's. |

It is interesting to watch you change your argument from "All club producers make tracks with Sasha & Digweed in mind because they influence what they make" to "Sasha & Digweed did influence some producers and some DJs to play more techno and they are why techno is now big and popular."

Never in my life have I seen someone scramble so relentlessly to cover his idiocy in multiple threads on one forum.
For someone who's constantly playing the "OMG, look at you - you're such a loser for posting a bunch on an internet forum!" card as often as LionsLair has, he certainly seems to care an awful lot about trying to prove himself "right" to the very forum members he's talking about.

I did already, every single producer that makes upfront club music craft their sound around Sasha & Digweed and other prominent DJ's. Any producer who makes Techno right now, crafts his music towards his favorite DJ or Venues of the moment. People dont just sit in their studios making techno because it gives them a boner, they make it because they aim to have the DJ's they make it for buy and play their tunes, and to hear their local DJ's play their tracks out. Even those local DJ's likely inspired local scene artists to create tracks to be played out by them. And if those producers follow the bigger scene, its the likes of Sashweed and other prominent DJ's that push producer's to take up the sounds that they spin.
Given that all these sounds exist persistently whether they are in the background for the forefront. Where do you think the movements in sound come from? Who dictates what DJ's like Digweed play? |

Carl Craig, does not make music for Sasha & Digweed. Guy Gerber does not make music for Sasha & Digweed. Radio Slave does not make music for Sasha & Digweed. Loco Dice does not make music for Sasha & Digweed. The list goes on and on... |
