Almost all seem to have disappeared; moved camp; stuck in the 1990s; or are new to the scene and dumb.
But honestly, being angry because Kanye West is booked for a party along with a bunch of lame superstar dj's who have their own font, is a bit of a waste of angryness. |

The people who liked what he played were the same folk who like Benassi, Guetta and Trance. So yeah its certain that different folks would have different views on his set. But from a purely technical standpoint, the dude ing sucks.
He's a great live artist, but a terrible, terrible DJ. |

Yes, there are plenty of them on this board. The reason they are not taking your side is because they are capable of appreciating a relatively stellar EDM lineup regardless of the token pop artist headlining the mainstage. I'll bring up these quotes again, for emphasis:

Let me explain this to you in a manner that you will hopefully be able to understand...
RAP, HIP-HOP AND OTHER SIMILAR GENRES OF MUSIC ARE ELECTRONIC DANCE MUSIC.
You might not like to admit it, sure, but it's all the same. Techno, Electronica, Trance, House, Dubstep, Garage, Hip-Hop, Rap, Downtempo, etc. all fall under the category of EDM.
Why, you ask? Look at how rap is produced; synthesizers, computers, sampling and a vocalist. Now, look at how Trance, Techno, House, etc are all produced; synthesizers, computers, sampling and sometimes a vocalist.
You said it yourself. This is an EDM festival, and the headliner is an EDM artist. |
