I like to know for similar reasons that Jenny has already mentioned.
I have a girlfriend that pushes about 400 guys a year (and this is NOT an exaggeration - she is an escort).
I think the amount of partners a person has had can give you a pretty good indication what their morals/values are like, and what their commitment habits are like.
Obviously you have to be reasonable, but if they are in the 30's and 40's... well, that's just too many IMO. I don't want to be with a man-whore who has commitment issues. |

Its easy to pull the moral card when you use a whore as an example. Plenty of people have a ton of partners that just didnt work out after a few weeks. Commitment issues dont always tie to promiscuity.
Why would you ask your partner? (even if he is into the 30-40s with partners) It doesnt matter as long as everyone is happy. Asking about partner is never a good conversation. |

Of course if they say a number you accept. What if the guy that has 45 under his belt, really likes you and you feel the same. Does it matter? Its when they say the big numbers you get put off...why even start that fire? Maybe you are better than the last 45 people. Its just a gamble that you get the answer you are OK with. |

If I found out he had slept with 45 people, I would probably re-evaluate my attraction to him. Is he just a schmoozer? Sweet talks the ladies, s 'em then chucks 'em? Does he have issues with commitment? Etc. etc.
It's likely that if I am into him, and 45 other chicks were into him, there is a common trend that I would probably not like to find myself suckered into. Sorry, but I don't plan to be another notch in the belt.
I have not encountered a guy I was interested in who has given me a number that I would scoff at. Surprisingly, I have found guys who are shocked at my number... but I think that guys expect the numbers to be lower for women. |
