Yeah, but when you take the attitude of "if you have been with more than two people you are a slut and not good enough for me" you are just asking to be lied to about it by your partner.
I guess I just can't see disqualifying someone as a potential partner just because they have been with X number of people in the past. Yeah if she was a prostitute or its some absurd number in the hundreds maybe you just can't deal with that. But the past is the past and as long as the person has no STDs then why hold that against them. It's just sex, it's not like they killed a bunch of people or something. |

sexual know-how and number of partners don't always necessarily have to be directly correlated. in fact most of the girls i've known who slept around a lot were still terrible in bed (according to the guys i knew who slept with them) because they were using sex to fill a void in their life and were usually drunk when it happened.

I think a lot of you are missing the point. It's not about the fact that someone is "hiding" their past, or "lying" about it. It's about the issues deep down within yourself that cause you to ask such questions in the first place.
Theresa, you finally admitted your insecurity. You have trust issues. This is why you delve so deep into your partners past. When you're burdened with such issues, of course you're going to be so snoopy and insecure and ask a million questions. But when does it stop? When are you satisified?
Looking at the big picture, a person needs to be fully secure with themselves before even stepping into a relationship with another person. Your "trust issues" need to be resolved. And I def don't want to hear some sob story about how all of your boyfriends have cheated on you and how you just can't trust men bla bla bla. Welcome to the big world. All of us have dealt with it, but we all just let it go, and realized the person in front of us is a new person.
Once your [not you, Theresa, but "you" in general] relationship mentality matures a LOT, you'll realize what we all mean when we say that we don't care about those things. |
