i rather have a god that makes me dance than a god that makes me blow towers and blow planes! |

Closer and Consumed are my two favorite Plastikman albums. Everyone gets gushy over Sheet One, but Closer and Consumed get continual replay by me. They were also the two albums that really sparked my love of minimal techno. IMO - that is what minimal techno really is - so much of the "minimal" coming out these days isn't all that minimal. Much of it is still pretty good - so not to diss it too much :)
DE9: Transitions has a perma-home on my iPod. Initially I downloaded it, and was so impressed I went out and purchased it the day after. Piracy is bad, arrrrrrrrr!
I also really respect what he did with that album. Not only did he have the CD mix, he also included an extended DVD mix, he put extra videos onto it, and was kind enough to include a high-quality version of the DVD mix in MP3 format.
The man really does embrace technology, and I have allot of respect for him for that.
on a semirelated note: Highroller, I like your taste in music and your take on techno ;) always enjoy reading your reviews. |

the harder he plays, the better IMO |
Agreed, that is my opinion of most techno, in general.
Does someone have his "Best Set Ever", or close to it so that I could have a listen? |

I don't know if you will ever find anyone who will agree on a "Best Set Ever" since he has evolved and changed so much over the years that certain sets will appeal to certain people.
One of my favs is an old bangin set of his from 2002. His Essential mix from Sankey's. It is really hard to find but I got it from Bobby a few years ago. Will upload it and post the link. |

Boooooooooo. Lol.
The reason being, is that I saw Richie at Guv a few years ago, and listened to some sets prior and I really wasn't feeling it. I realize my musical tastes have evolved quite a bit, so I figure I might as well re-acquaint myself with something above par.

Don't forget that the DVD mix is in Dolby or DTS 5.1 (can't remember which). That alone is enough to give mad respect too him because nobody else is doing it. I'm really disappointed Sasha didn't do Involv2er in 5.1 as well.
Having said that I can't really comment on Richie as a DJ because surprisingly; I've never had the chance to see him :O |
