We passed an amendment to the state ing constitution defining marriage as between a man and a woman.
To get a constitutional amendment back on the ballot, you need 2/3 yes from both houses and the governor's approval.
This is going to be so hard to undo...

That's kind of sad, although I don't think that government should be in the business of recognizing marriage at all.
Of course, the easy end-around of this amendment would just be to call state-recognized marriage something else, in which case the definition of marriage would be entirely irrelevant. Not that I'm condoning that, mind you. |
