Whole country goes forwards and California goes backwards...

We passed an amendment to the state ing constitution defining marriage as between a man and a woman.

To get a constitutional amendment back on the ballot, you need 2/3 yes from both houses and the governor's approval.

This is going to be so hard to undo...

You wont get the presidents vote on that.

The whole country lurches forward into liberal-secular-humanist-communist-defeatism, you mean! While California tries desperately to preserve valuable traditions.

I guess all those white people marching behind MLK in the '50s must have been secretly black.

This was on the state-wide ballot.

that's gay! lol

well don't feel bad, FL said yes to amen. 2 banning gay marriage as well...

but according to your governat0r:
"I think that gay marriage should be between a man and a woman."

You can always threaten to move to canada.

That's kind of sad, although I don't think that government should be in the business of recognizing marriage at all.

Of course, the easy end-around of this amendment would just be to call state-recognized marriage something else, in which case the definition of marriage would be entirely irrelevant. Not that I'm condoning that, mind you.
