Big ups to TA'er Matt Acton. Delivered a stunning breaks remix of TasteXperience's Hydewoood - Received praise from TasteXperience before it was even mastered.

Please, send me your demos. I've gotten multiple messages from artists who have submitted demos that said they were afraid to submit demos. NEVER be afraid. I always encourage artists to continue sending demos even if I think their submission is a poor one.
I hear a lot of demos that have some great parts, a good mix down, and come from somebody who obviously knows what their doing. Sometimes they just need a little extra guidance or an opinion from a label. Don't forget I have DJ'd for over ten years so quite a bit of music has passed through these ear canals.
I'm working with one artist who is extremely talented but was creating tracks that were not DJ friendly. After I explained how they are not DJ friendly and why only expert DJ's would try to use them (that does not include me, the only DJ I could see using the track to its fullest potential would be James Holden) he understood. I told him what a DJ looks for, and 10 days later he submitted a great, DJ friendly remix.
Please, do not hesitate to send me your stuff! It is a completely confidential process (unless you're getting published of course)

I would also encourage you to revisit our MySpace as it has been updated with new information. Label-Worx will now be handling our distribution. Label Worx is a label aggregator that publishes music with over 40 distributors. Some updates for those who care: Olympik Records is currently being reviewed by Label Worx (www.label-worx.com) which is a legal aggregator. I hate to speculate so early in the process (can take up to 5 weeks) but early indications from the review indicate that we'll be adding "the big one" to our list of distributors along with many more.
During the time of review, releases have been suspended to avoid any confusion.
This is a great time for anybody interested in submitting demos to submit them. I've got a lot more time to dedicate to A&R, and the label is marching up the ladder. Don't hesitate to send me your demos, even if they are not finished. I will do my best to give feedback on all of them but I must warn you I am dead honest :)

I'm very impressed with the addition of the mastering engineer services. The willingness to invest money in releases, takes it a step above a lot of other labels, including some major ones. The willingness to take the time to promote releases, is yet another feather in Olympic Record's cap.
Stephen and his cohorts are serious about this, it's not just another bunch of "kids" staring a net label. Definately send in a demo or two. |

Thanks for the kind words. Glad you have enjoyed working with us and the feelings are mutual. I really enjoy your approach and style but you already know that.
For those out there considering sending in demos, don't hesitate. I'm not going to come burn down your house if you send me crap music :haha:
