I have hope for F1 now that Mosely will not be interfering with things. |
Next step will be to get Berrnie out, and we could have a real racing series again!
Thankfully this agreement will at least allow Donington to take Silverstone's place. Donington is such an amazing track, and it will be awesome to see F1 cars on it. Silverstone is boooooooring! |

I've been a Bernie hater for a while, but I think that he can improve now with Max out of the way. Bernie doesn't give a what the teams spend, as long as they commit to the series. Max was all over the rules changes like stink on a monkey and it interfered way too much.
As long as bernie keeps the schedule relatively consistent and in quality markets, things should be ok. I'm not sure if you guys go tthe pre and post race stuff on BBC last weekend, but I was impressed by his comments about the whole mess including the British GP which will go ahead next year whether it's at Donnington or Silverstone.
(i don't have a preference between the circuits myself - I enjoy them both) |

Teams need to spend a lot, simple as that.
I just don't like bernie moving into stale markets, where there is no passion, and the tracks are pretty useless. Hopefully things improve in the next few years with max stepping down. |

I doubt F1 would come to an inner city circuit any more since there isn't nearly enough runoff area for safety etc (Monaco is the notable exception because it's Monaco).
i would love to see the GP back at Mosport. It's a fantastic circuit. It just needs a facelift. |
not gonna happen, Montreal will be back next year for 7 years minimum. |

So glad I stayed up to watch the race. God I love Spa.
Kimi is the man, and easily one of the fastest drivers in F1. If anybody else wants to dispute it...how many times has he one at Spa?
Fisi did a great job all weekend, really impressed. Where the did they come from? That was genuine pace, not just fool hardidly light fueling during quali.
Funny all the rumours surrounding Kimi. Some are speculating that Ferrari is offering him half of his massive contract to leave early, so that he can move aside for Alonso. Ferrari maybe waiting to hear about Massa before they make any kind of decision.
Ferrari does need a competitor like Alonso. Somebody who will give his all, cut throat, and very dedicated. The pairing of Kimi and Massa needs to change. Personally I have never been a fan of Massa. He is a great guy, and loves the team, and sport, but IMO has never been fast enough. Kimi just doesn't give a . |

Fisichella moves from Force India to Ferrari
The Canadian Press
9/3/2009 12:23:59 PM
MARANELLO, Italy - Italian driver Giancarlo Fisichella left Force India on Thursday to join Ferrari for the rest of the Formula One season.
Ferrari has been anxious to find a better replacement for the injured Felipe Massa after the team's longtime test driver, Luca Badoer, qualified last and finished no better than 14th in his first two races since stepping in for the Brazilian.
"We have chosen Fisichella because we can expect him to make a valuable contribution in this final part of the season," Ferrari team director Stefano Domenicali said. "Giancarlo has shown, throughout his long career, that he is fast and competitive and we are therefore proud to be able to run an Italian driver in our home race.
The Italian Grand Prix in Monza is next, on Sept. 13.
"I'm in seventh heaven," Fisichella told Ferrari's website. "I'm still having a hard time believing the fact that the dream of my life is coming true.
"In the last week incredible things have happened to me -- the pole position and second place in Spa and now the call from Ferrari... I'm going to give my all to pay back Ferrari for such a great opportunity."
Fisichella finished second in last weekend's Belgian GP, giving Force India its first points in Formula One. Five races remain this season.
Force India chairman and team principal Vijay Mallya said Fisichella's management team came to him Wednesday with Ferrari's proposal.
"For any Italian driver, a Ferrari race seat is a long-held dream and for Giancarlo it was no exception. No one should stand in the way of this," Mallya said.
The 36-year-old Fisichella began his Formula One career in 1996 with Minardi. He has also driven for Jordan, Benetton, Sauber and Renault -- compiling three wins and four pole positions.
Massa is not expected to return until next season after an accident almost cost him his life at the Hungarian GP. With Kimi Raikkonen also under contract, Ferrari said Fisichella will be the team's reserve driver in 2010.
"The agreement will secure Giancarlo's long-term future with Ferrari and it would be incorrect to jeopardize this, particularly when Giancarlo has made such a vital contribution to Force India," Mallya said.
"We would like to stress that we have not agreed any financial settlement with Ferrari," Mallya added. "This agreement has been made in good faith and for the good of Giancarlo and the sport in general. A competitive Italian driver in a Ferrari for Monza is a positive story for Formula One, which can only help raise the sport's profile in these difficult times."
Fisichella said he was grateful that Mallya gave him this opportunity.
"It is true that it has always been an ambition to do this, and for Vijay to have allowed it to become a reality is very generous," Fisichella said. "I hope in my turn I have helped Force India grow up and be on the right path to achieve their own ambitions. They are now a very competitive team and I wish them all the very best.'
Force India said it will announce a replacement for Fisichella in the next few days. |
