Toronto's chances for a GP rest on Don Panoz doing more and better renovatoins to Mosport.
I doubt F1 would come to an inner city circuit any more since there isn't nearly enough runoff area for safety etc (Monaco is the notable exception because it's Monaco).
i would love to see the GP back at Mosport. It's a fantastic circuit. It just needs a facelift. |

Mosport is such an awesome track, def one of my favs on the international level. Unfortunately, having watched some racing there (Bikes, ALMS rip), there is no way it would hold up to the standards of F1, for safety, facilities or glitz.
The race was interesting, but the tire rules are just cocked up. Talk about artificial momentum. Not only did we have the stupid rule that you HAVE to use both tires (least effective), but now the grade difference is two compounds. Ok guys, go out and race, but you have to use that gearbox from testing with 5.5 gears, and only 15k RPM just so we don't have you wasting money. It not only ruins optimum race strategy, but creates such speed differentials that it may actually be dangerous. I want racing that is based on the most efficient/effective equipment and strategy.
As for Abu Dabi, do we really need another track out in the desert? How about a track with some elevation, and where people actually race for a hobby? Finland where are you?
Why are people calling Brawn GP the feel good story/Cinderella story? This is team Honda, with a different name. They have a huge budget, and have been working on the car for over a year now, under the direction of Brawn. Plus they have two experienced drivers in Button, and Barichello who just has so much knowledge to drawn upon. Let's keep this in perspective, Brawn GP is the most developed car on the grid. |
