I wonder if USF1 is gonna bring american auto makers in the sport too.. |
I doubt any of the US carmakers will dip back into F1 in any significant way. Ford got burned on it with the Jaguar deal which never showed it's full potential. Maybe it was just timing - being on the same grid as a very dominant Ferrari squad during those years. Ford always had it's best success just supplying engines. The Cosworth DFV is still the most successful single engine design in all of F1 history - and it only cost them 100k gbp to develop it.
I hope USF1 manages to do ok, because of what it could mean for the sport as a whole (like a US race, and therefore another Canadian one). |

Malek, do you really think they can have the track surface ready in time? There's also the ARCA / MASCAR race on it this summer to abuse it even more.
For the last few years, the track has crumbled to bits even with recent resurfacing efforts in most corners.
I just don't think the track is up to it. It needs a full, proper resurfacing if it is going to last.
I would love to see the GP back in Montreal, I really would. But I think previous efforts have been too rushed and too half-assed to be effective. |

| They did redo the track last year, but the compound used was a disaster... hopefully they'll look into this asap. Still 6 months to go, plenty of time. |

^ They need to totally resurface the track with tarmac that won't break up after Friday practice if they have any hope of getting the race back.
They also need a race in the US to be packaged with it in order to make it cost-effective for the teams.
I would love to see F1 back in Montreal, but I don't think it'll happen in 2011.
I would also like to see Don Panoz do some more renovations to Mosport and have it host the F1 in alternating years with Montreal. |
What is the Montreal weather like in October ? Will they need to use the front wings as snow ploughs ?
I'd love Montreal to be back, its my fav track.

I wonder what are the other two ? is it just what Bernie HOPES will happen ?

but the track was breaking up :wtf: its not the tyres fault. Or have they resurfaced after the GP ? |
