i concur, steve aoki is horse. i would hope they wouldn't let him within 5 blocks of EDC.

wish i could say the same about lame castelvania... i can't believe that emoraveposerdouchebag has gotten booked two years in a row. can't wait till that nu rave trend is completely dead. a whole nu rave stage, yet no minimal/techno love. its just wrong!

and whats with the name le castelvania anyway? was dj double dragon already taken?

There was actually an article in the LA Times recently talking about attendance at festivals/massives during The Great Recession. EDC was quoted as having reduced their ticket price from a planned $130 to $99 for a 2-day GA ticket to help make it more affordable, so guess we are getting a break.

Here's the link to that story, btw...it's not just about EDC, but the interview with EDC's CEO (what a great job title!) is below:

And Pasquale Rotella, chief executive of Insomniac, the firm behind the Electric Daisy Carnival, an electronica festival in Los Angeles that drew 65,000 people last year, said the event plans to increase the number of performers and slash ticket prices from $130 to $99 for a two-day pass this year.

"People are feeling tapped," Rotella said. "But we are going a lot bigger, spending a lot more money while still keeping the price down. We are trying to help people by being conscious of our ticket prices."

so no price increase after all? just flat rate till the end even with future lineup additions?

I bought 4 x 2-day passes from Dr. Freeclouds, and I was given a ticket for each day.

There is a lot of potential profit here... $102 (cash only) for a 2 day pass is cheaper than groovetickets AND you get the physical tickets to sell in case some goes down.

Just went and bought both days general admission at DJ Culture in Huntington Beach.

If you buy them from authorized distributor, you will get the hard physical ticket that will gain you direct admittance.

FYI, even if you were to purchase both days, you will be issued 2 different tickets, which is kind of a plus for me because I'm still undecided whether or not I'll go both days. I could always use one and sell the other one back.

tickets prices will maintain an affortable level in all aspects. all the latent is grade A. all headlinears in their own scenes.

Pas has created a great atmosphere with EDC. this year's EDC is one to remember for years to come.

so come party!

You would be suprised how much people like his music. I personally dont understand the NU rave scene, but it's making a bold statement in the dance scene.

They don't like his music they like his antics.

Any word about a dvd being released ? They supposedly started filming for it @ nocturnal ?

it seems to me that nu rave is more of a passing phase, that caught on when all these indie/emo rocker kids decided they'd look cooler in their sister's jeans if they went to a dance party instead of a my chemical romance concert. hopefully they'll grow out of it and go follow another mindless trend

i'd be so down for an insomniac dvd... actually i've been hoping they'd come out with one ever since my first insomniac party back in '05! putting together a dvd though of an event like EDC would be a pretty huge undertaking... it would probably take a whole year just to edit the damn thing!
