A video i took of ATB playing Energy 52 "Cafe Del Mar"

Friday night was out of control!

Aly & Fila (just one of them travels) was epic!
Eddie Halliwell destroyed the place
ATB played the set of the night for me though. He had that place going absolutely insane!
Oakenfold is back people, jesus the man destroyed it and even played Lost Tribe "Gamemaster"! He played some of the greatest classics ever mixed in with a bunch of new . Excellent set!

5:30 pm Saturday: The stage with Kyau and Abert is packed while the main stage is like 20% full. I knew the Circuit and Kinetic stages should have been switched! ;) Just wait until Cosmic Gate comes on!!! :eyespop:

I am so glad i can finally hear more house based sets on the main stage. House needs a bigger stage and this time it was it!

Overall, I thought this year's EDC was better than last year's EDC. I still am impressed by the scale of this event. One item that helped make the entire EDC experience more enjoyable was having a second entrance point. Last year was a complete disaster when everyone was funneled into a single entry point and it took over an hour to get inside.

However, I have some constructive criticism that hopefully will make EDC even better next year:

(1) Lack of toilets at the field level of the Coliseum - Last year, there were port-o-johns at the field level, enabling people to quickly and conveniently use the bathroom. This year there were no port-o-johns and people were force to hike up the congested stairs to the tunnel. It took 10 minutes from the base of the stairs until I was able to enter the tunnel. If port-o-johns were added to the field level, the stairways would be less congested as less people would be using them to make their way to the restrooms.

(2) On Day 2 in the Coliseum around midnight, security guards closed off the field. If this was because there were too many people, it is understandable. However, it was very frustrating because many (including me) simply left the field to use the restroom. If nature calls, you would be separated from your friends for a longggg time. The only reason I was able to make it back to the field was because many people rushed the poor security guards who were powerless to hold back dozens of upset ravers. I slipped in behind them.

(3) A question... There was a long period of near silence preceeding Benny Benassi's set (due to technical difficulties?). During this time, my friends and I heard some quiet music being played. Was it not possible to turn the volume up and play some filler trance music until the technical difficulties were resolved?

(4) As stated in another thread, Thievery Corporation's Reggae style music should not be between Halliwell and ATB. Enough has been said about this topic already.

Oh yeah. On both Friday and Saturday I saw 4 or 5 midgets in suits walking about. They looked liked private security. Anyone know who they were?

I saw a few people ask them for pictures, which they happily posed for.

Groove armada killed it that night.. was a lot better than i expected from them. I hated the silence.. it was like going to a super packed normal carnival.

Yah, that was a disaster. Total disaster. I think the worst issue by far.

It was a mess getting down there, and because there were no bathrooms, there were people going in and out. What they should have done is set up lines for down only (like the sides), and one for up only (like the middle); and it would have been SO MUCH BETTER. Plus, staff it up with a bunch of guards.

Coachella does it with the beer gardens...so it can work!

I think they could get filler music in... they had some while we were waiting for Infected Mushroom (after Marcus Shultz' set).

You know, after going to the Coachella festival for 9 years, it makes you appreciate how much better organized/run/layedout that show is compared with all the rest.

I'm surprised noone said anything about the entrance to the coliseum yet, when they closed the main entrance at like 12, people just wen thru the side tunnels. Everyone was jumping the rows of chairs and the fences. I was so squished that i was literally suspended in air between the steps, not able to touch the ground.
