Are the prices on VIP tickets going to go up Mr. "Insomniac Events"? Considering they are already pretty high. And if so what is the next price bracket they will go up to?

I agree. Never do that.

I went with some friends to see above and Beyond back in 7/04. We parked on the street either 1 or 2 blocks from Circus/Arena (event was at arena). At the end of the night, his late 1990s accord was broken into and the STOCK radio was stolen. That's it.

For the cold ass car ride home and the insurance hassle, it's never worth it to save a couple of dollars and park at an extremely increased risk.

It's not worth it to drink tap water at a rave like one hosted at the sports arena. Buy the $5 bottles of water.

I do remember heavy police presence at the two events I've been at the Shrine, 5/08 and 4/09, but that's the north part of campus. The sports arena is south of USC >_<

Edit: I'm retarded. The parking structures are located with the "P" symbol in case anyone else is interested in knowing the EXACT location of where they are.

the area around usc is probably one of the safest areas in los angeles. much more safer than hollywood, for sure.

people dont seem to realize how heavy the police presence is around campus. you can park your car anywhere north of campus and you will be okay, usc has police patrols both in car and on segway that come by every 5 or 10 minutes

Got my 2-day VIP ticket a few days ago from ticketmaster. First time attending EDC, can't wait!

Anyone from Vancouver going or planning to go?

For like $20 you can park in one of the garage's on campus. It's a bit of a walk, but least it's in an area with security and cameras.

Yup, the USC parking lot on Figueroa (just north of the event), should be fine.

It will be ~10 minute walk

Why not? I've done it in years past and been fine.

But if you are on the field at the Coliseum, it will be very inconvenient to walk up the steps to the nearest bathroom sink.

60 days to go!

Swine flu prompts California "state of emergency"
Tue Apr 28, 2009 2:28pm EDT

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on Tuesday declared a "state of emergency" for the state over an outbreak of the swine flu that has killed 149 people in Mexico.

So far state and local officials have confirmed 13 cases of the swine flu in California. None has been fatal, although Los Angeles County Coroner's officials were investigating two deaths as possibly related to the disease.

Schwarzenegger's proclamation allows the state to deploy additional resources to the Department of Public Health and more quickly and easily purchase equipment and materials.

U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano declared a federal public health emergency on Sunday.

does this worry anyone else? any cali kids have the inside word on what might happen with EDC, or how seriously people are taking this in cali? obviously if the governator has declared state of emergency, a massive 100,000 person outdoor event like daisy might be seen as a gigantic public health threat... i know in mexico, they've already shut down schools, bars, nightclubs, movie theaters and many resturants in hopes of preventing the spread of the virus. lets hope this thing gets under control quick or missing EDC might be the least of everyone's worries :/
