The story was in the U.S. not Nazi Germany. If you think that the law enforcement in the U.S. is the equivalent to Germany during the Third Reich then you are out of touch with reality. |
How did normal Germany turn into Nazi Germany? Was Germany always secretly a Nazi state? Did it turn Nazi overnight? |

I was leaving a slut's house late one night after taking her home from some party. I got pulled over on the way home and of course I had been drinking. They yelled at me to get out of the car, but I didn't say anything and just rolled down the window and gave the officer my ID. He yelled at me some more and I told him I didn't have anything to say to him and that I wasn't going to do or say anything without my attorney present. They told me oh now you're definitely going to need an attorney as they opened my door without permission and pulled me out. They turned off the camera and threw me into the side of my truck a few times and kicked me a little when I would hit the ground but nothing that actually hurt. They cuffed me and put me in the squad car and pushed a breathalizer in my face. I told them didn't you hear what I told you the first time? And laughed in their face. They booked me with DUI, and my father posted bail a few hours later. Then a month down the road the case was dismissed for insufficient evidence.
that definitely isn't the best one i can think of but the easiest and one to tell probably so there you go |

Haha, nice. Anyone who has been drinking and gets pulled over, NEVER CONSENT TO ANYTHING. Don't consent to a search, or Breathalyzer, or field sobriety test. |

the 5 minute old weimar republic is hardly comparable to a constitutional arrangement that has stood for a few hundred years. |

| Can't discount the fact that Hitler did legally come to power, barring his revolutionary past (1923 Beer Hall Putsch)... |

True.. You can put it down to my Soviet background, but I just don't think individual rights and other benefits of democracy should be taken for granted. I don't see them being as inherently stable in and of themselves as everyone else seems to. |

So, are you saying that driving whilst drunk shouldn't be against the law, or do you deserve an exemption for being totally awesome?

yeah, and in australia we're smart enough to have criminalised refusal to provide a breath test. |
