adults...as in...fifty years old...impossible!
unless you can cha cha cha :wtf: |
lol
i am not trying to degrade anyone.
but being an adult has nothing to do with age. Ask yourself what responsibilities you have, and what you do to prepare for later on.
I can honestly say looking back that at 27 i was still a kid in a man's body. Then again some people get it younger. My friend is 30 and is still a kid.
look at bas, big job, nice car with chav seats, responsibilities and stuff. :p |

There are kids and young adults who go to these parties and live normal successful lives after the club, many can afford going to a bar with you and yours truly for a pint or two; of course your average bloke is likely to turn out to be a crackhead, but if you stay 'relatively' clean; the likelihood of meeting bright, honest, and respectable people is greater. It's all about one's mindset, I can party hard for a couple of days, and I can still pay for a dinner/date; partying has never been a problem where i'm broke because of it.
I can still buy nice stuff, work and get paid, run a small business, study, simply running a normal life. no need to absorb yourself to the extent that you begin to lose sight of what's important; i am a true idealist (i believe in consciousness), but I also like the material world....
Either way, very dissapointed at the whole 'blip bloop' and 'kids that go to raves are losers' attitude, seriously, relax ... this is techno... if i want to act all stuffy i can simply go to a showcase of hedda gabbler by henrik ibsen or a wine taster
jus' sayin :happy2: |
and most of us are known as "double-lifers" :tongue2
a guy at work told me this week that he never would have pegged me as a "techno listener" and when i asked him to explain his thought process he replied "you're too clean cut and responsible"... ignorance, but i lol'd. |

"look at me i'm so adult!" |
And now you still are saying it.
The tendency throughout youth is always to try and "be like the older kids," to be ahead of your age group in all the knowledge and privileges that come with "growing up." Be the first to drive, have sex, get drunk, go to clubs, whatever. I tend to think people have really matured when they finally stop worrying about whether they've "grown up" enough.

You're still missing the point. Winston is saying that you can still go to clubs and party without resorting to a three day drug binge. I agree. I'm studying full-time, working full-time and have a few other projects on the go, but I still get out for big Friday or Saturday nights without letting it rule my life. |
i do still go out.
it might not be all rave all the time, but i don't only have myself to think about. It is rare that i spend a weekend in. I can't do the afterhours thing anymore really because the club opens at 3, and sans drugs by 5 i am ready for bed.
nothing wrong with going to see a band during normal club hours, or going to a really nice restaurant...it can be just as fun:p |

i get that all the time too, my bosses always think i'm just a clean cut, intelligent college kid. i don't smoke cigs either and i think a lot of people correlate smoking with drinking and/or drug use
last semester this 19 year old i was working on a school project with said he thought it would be funny to see me high, like i'd never smoked weed before or something. i thought, " son i'm an OG, i've been smokin way before you even hit puberty" :p
edit: that rhymed too, asian asher roth here i come |

not really, i'm very involved with the scene and im quite open with other people knowing about my love for repetitive druggy music.
i just don't give a because i don't look for other people's approval, except for the approval of those very close to me (mom and pops), and they have always supported my hobby/craft.
i dunno, it's weird because in america techno is seen as gay or drug music (ing puritans) whereas in europe, techno is expected at clubs, regardless of what orientation it caters..
oh well, you need to play with the cards your dealt with ... |

my roommate threw his back out at work today and so this massage therapist came to our place to work him out. he has a date tonight with some hot chick from a dating website who has blown him off like twice already and he is still gonna go even though he's in so much pain. talk about desperate. and when he was getting his massage, she was calling him and he was like, "text her back for me! bla bla bla"
i was like, "dude just relax and text her back when you're done..dont be so desperate". he was like, "but she's so hot!"
before the massage therapist was even totally gone from our place, he was already calling her back.
lol jesus... |

This thread is depressing cause i kinda see myself on that other side.. ugh. :\ My friends all got their girls and are starting not to want to go out as much anymore... whereas I'm the desperate dude wanting to parties out of necessity to get some ass. Wonder how things will be in a couple years. Then again I'd never be gay enough to ask to go to a "couple thing", that's retarded and far too clingy for anyone with the slightest hint of common sense.
:stongue: at the WOW kid. |
