i mean it really concerned me lol all of his crew were either doctors or chiropractors and they all partied several times a year for like a week straight...and i mean balls to the wall. heavy hitters. one of them had a wife who didn't even know he was there for that. he told her some other bull like he was golfing all weekend with the boys or something. we were so ed up on coke and glass, i kept having to remind him to call his wife each day (we were all up for about 3 days lol). on the 3rd day we couldn't remember if he had called yet for like 20 minutes and then it occurred to us that he could just check his phone. :stongue: that's when i decided to call it a weekend and head home. |
I mean..... wow. LOL!! |

*sigh*... here we go. No, I wasn't insinuating that. Let's reel this back in and save politics for the PDD. |
What else is "being so anti-obama doesn't sit well with the idealistic 'youth'" supposed to mean? |

lol... look at you getting all defensive. Do you consider yourself part of the idealistic youth or something? Take it easy man I was just making a generalization... not all youth are idealistic, and not everyone idealistic is a youth... and not everyone in the PDD who is pro-Obama means they are an idealistic youth.... etc.
sheesh. |

I still have a lot of growing up to do but most of the like minded people in this city who like to go out and listen to really good dance music and get cracky on weekends are pretty successful individuals all doing their own thing. Apart from a few of the younger girls in the crew and those of us for whom this lifestyle is entirely work related (DJs, producers, agents etc) most everyone in our crew has a solid day job and a house/place and a steady girl or wife. 90% of my friends are older than me, most are between 26-32.
In fact one thing really lacking from better parties in LA is the younger crowd. The kids here all listen to music and by and large our parties attract older, more connected people.
I'm sure I will change but I doubt I will grow out of this lifestyle for a while given that it's going to be my job for the foreseeable future... |
i am glad that you did not see my comment as a slight, because it wasn't:p
if i was still your age i would be doing the exact same thing:)
see i think i montreal everything is getting younger (a lot listen to horrible music, but A LOT have impeccable taste.) I'll still hit the odd event, but i totally feel like "that guy" now. You never outgrow the music, and i know i never will, but i just don't have anything in common with the prevalent demographic anymore.
I feel like the old hippie who tells the young hippie how to properly drop acid:p |

Not really, I just have a tendency to pounce aggressively on stupid generalizations, especially when they rest on old platitudes that aren't even true. |

every cop i know indulges more than anyone else i have ever met. I know quite a few piggies (mostly from going to school with them), it is a ing really hard job on the mental, and when they unwind, oh man they would put my hooker mother to shame!
only smoked meth once, but i used to do quite a bit of speed in pill form. Great way to stay skinny, and without smoking , you don't get the meth smile if you drink water:p That being said it is filthy and fun so don't do it.:p |

i don't see how age is relevant to anything. I will be hitting 30 next year and i have done every kind of night imaginable musically (trance, house, breaks , techno, dubstep, even hardcore:nervous: ) in the last 12 years of my life. Sometimes i wouldn't go out for months at a time, and others (like now..Danny Howells tonight hihi) i go out anywhere from 1 to 4 times a week.
When you get older, i find it has less to do with who is playing. It is still important of course, but you have considerably more income to throw around generally than in the younger days and the focus becomes on having a really great time. I guess i've become that guy that when i was young i used to hate. The one that spent a lot on getting a table and drinking good hooch instead of dropping 10 bucks on some pills made in a shed somewhere. When you need a break from tearing ass its great to enjoy watching the younger generation gurn their faces off to amazing music.
im changing my name back to puff daddy, and i will keep going out as long as i feel like the music still makes it worth it.
