| It's a shame to lose any club that brings in quality talent. It's not perfect, but I think we'd be wrong to assume that if Pacha were to close something else would take its place. Unfortunately I think it's more likely that we'd be left with nothing.. :( |

uhhh .
sucks pacha is closed this weekend. At least it will resume business next week. As for jmauro's comment about him wishing the club would close down for good or what not...I hate the staff and sometimes the type of people that crawl in there but i cant complain about the countless of great dj's pacha attracts. I would rather deal with pacha than have to go to mansion. After reading all the horrible reviews of mansion, I'd rather Pacha do their thing and keep being a decent club that it is. its a pity someone got hurt outside of the club but as long as the cops do their thing for a solid weekend and let the partying resume the next weekend...is fine by me :D :clown: |

Agreed. I don't care if you love or hate Pacha, its the only real EDM big room left in NYC right now. There are a ton of options on a given weekend. If you don't like Pacha, there are plenty of other parties to go to. There is no upside in the place being closed though. |

Ohhh you guys are too good, and just because you want to start cursing at me and bashing tiesto because I posted something you didnt agree with, it doesnt mean that Ill suddenly stop posting on these forums. It takes a lot to piss me off, so go ahead and keep talking.
We all have an opinion, and to be honest, I stand by my opinion.
So, ok, Pacha attracts top talent and its the top EDM club right now. Any other club in the city could do that, everyone is acting like if Pacha shut down the scene is over.
Another thing is that these clubs represent the nyc club scene to the world, so if they dont have their together, what does that say about NY to tourists and everyone else that goes to that club in the city about the club scene.
I would rather have a club that represents the city well, I dont care how small, then a piece of club in Hell's Kitchen just because it has a huge room. You guys cant be serious about defending Pacha, clubs should have higher standards, and you guys are giving in to easily.
We have many 'events' in NYC (Area, Made, Massive etc..) that work hard every month to bring top talent to NYC. The shutdown of Pacha isnt going to mean the end of the EDM scene in NY. Quite frankly, I wouldnt want any club to shutdown permanently, but I hope this serves as a wakeup call for Pacha. Police shutting down their parties is proof they dont have their together. Pacha isnt the only venue in the city, it is one of the most ed up though and they need to change, or else it will close and when that happens, Ill say they brought it upon themselves. For more reasons, read the ATB review thread.
erock, do you have more to say, cuz if bashing me is what makes you happy, then go ahead, seriously, cuz I could care less. |

Pacha doesn't need a wakeup call. A good amount of the people that take care of Pacha are ex-SF heads that have been there for over a decade. Do you have a metal detector outside of your club? This happened OUTSIDE. Do you want to hire K-9's to sniff out the drug dealers and scare the out of your clientele?
Be realistic.
Any big room in NYC is going to catch heat sooner or later. It's a numbers game. Even ing Webster Hall as protected as they are by the city because of it being a tourist landmark. The more days you're open, the more prone you are to bad stuff happening. Anyone respected in the business can tell you, running a large club - ing sucks. The people at Made can testify to that . Bindra was the GM of Twilo.
It's great money, but alot of BS you gotta be responsible for, like this incident.

Can you name 1 other big room venue that does the talent that Pacha does on a weekly basis successfully ?

EVERY venue has pro's and con's kid. Even as good as Crobar and Twilo were, there were still people who complained. Thus, you cannot satisfy everyone (a.k.a. you). I do have complaints myself (even though I'm defending) because there are nights that could of gone better, but I digress as do many others.
If you knew even 1% of what it takes to run a big room, you would not be saying anything about applying higher standards when capacity is over 4K.

if you really didn't care... then you wouldn't have had such a lengthy and defensive response. lol.
I think it's horrible when any club gets shut down. Sucks for young people, sucks for the entertainment industry, sucks for music period.
I understand why people bash pacha, cause they don't like the way the bouncers act or certain types of people that go there, but such is life. I don't like a lot of people, not just at pacha, but everywhere. Sometimes I think it's just TA's being spoiled when they hate so hard on a club that brings in such great talent. I mean for Christ's sake, its a club, aren't bouncers supposed to be pricks at clubs? they have to deal with drugged out, drunk people falling over themselves all the time. I'd be a prick too if I were staff there.
And regarding Tru Life, it wouldn't be NY rap if there wasn't beef at the club. Some people may hate it, some people may love it and find it excited. I've had 'beef at the club,' or whatever, when I was still hustling and all that. That's just how it is. A lot of thugs and hustler's can rap good.
I'm curious to know who the DJ was on 6/14 or 6/15 or whenever they were there. |

+1.... Let's hope Terminal 5 picks up some slack, I like the grittiness in there, and I don't think it'll appeal to the types of people that we complain about going to Pacha...

lol I forget what show it was a few years ago but some comedian or something was pretending to be able to predict the future and he was like...
"wait... I see something... one day soon... in the next month... the headline of papers will read... Rapper brought up on gun charges..."
I dunno lol just made me think of that |

why the hell would you be happy for pacha to get shut down? i may not be a fan of the venue but made brings a majority of their events to that club. if pacha were ever shutdown for good where do you think they'll go? it's not like we have other viable options, in fact i'd argue and say this the ONLY option. |
