Man, I've had alot of really great nights at Pacha over the years... The crowd might not be the type of ppl u want to hang out with, but if u bring enuff friends it's w.e ... And if u just look at their events over the last couple of years you will see that no one else has been as successful as they are in bringing in top 100 djs as they have been

lol look at wat i started

i will just say that i kinda understand what jmauro means i just think he took it a lil overboard...nice one jmoron lol
there has been alot of hate towards pacha from alot of people and they can get away with it cause they are their own competition at this point for a big venue
do i want to see it closed? no
if the stabbing or shooting happened inside the club, then yea i would like to see it shut down until the proper security is in place...i dont care if i had to take off my shoes when i first walked in, its better then steping on someones toes by accident and next thing i know i got a knife in me
what happens outside the club is not really their fault

reality is there is always gonna be violence, drugs etc that will shut down clubs
BUT nyc deff needs another big room dedicated to edm
i mean this is nyc the mecca and one of the starting places for house music and your telling me theres only one big room to represent, and that room is pacha? thats a joke

for anyone who was planning on goin there this weekend
i just got a text from one of my friends saying they are shut down for the weekend, and dt even posted it on his facebook
SORRY TO ANNOUNCE THAT: PACHA WILL NOT BE OPEN THIS ENTIRE WEEKEND FOR LEGAL REASONS! This is terrible news for us all. I have no other info at this time as I too was completely surprised & very sad to hear this! I think you all know that every once in a while this happens to various NYC venues & I'm sure they will BE opened by next weekend. In the meantime, this is our Flier/MJ Tribute for my next date on Aug. "

looks like hammerstein tomarrow is gonna be rammed

I heard that they moved the events planned to Providense few blocks to east a block away from Time Square.. I am not ssure, and I have I have not read the whole thread so if anybody posted it before than my bad...

Alright Alright, I guess my last statement wasnt exactly my best statement. lol. I pissed off a lot of you this weekend by saying that (even people on TA that Ive met recently). I knew the negative feedback to my comment would come, especially by the people that are big fans of it.

So let me just clear up my view on this. I am still happy to see that
Pacha got shut down this weekend (sorry to anyone that had plans to see the great lineup of DJ's that were scheduled for this weekend). And I dont mean to start a war by saying this, I guess I just liked seeing a venue thats pissed me off so much lose revenue on one of the biggest weekends of the summer.

With that being said, I agree with all of you that there is no perfect club and I have to say that I do know that every club anywhere has its share of problems and running a club isnt the easiest thing in the world.

Since the incident happened outside the club, then no, I dont blame Pacha and it should be opened as soon as possible. If an incident were to happen inside the club, then yes, I agree with AY that it should be shut down "temporarily".

Do I want Pacha shutdown forever? No. Do I want to see the club shut down next week or the week after that? No. When they improve their service, I might take back any bad thing I said about Pacha and be more nice to them. But if they continue with the crap that was talked about on the ATB thread, then yes, I would like to see more "temporary" shutdowns. I agree though that this shutdown is enough for me for another 6-12 months. Can they improve their service? YES THEY CAN.

Some of you pointed out that this club might not satisfy me, but Im going to say that my complaints are really simple to fix. The complaints I have about Pacha can be fixed with customer service 101.
Never had a problem at Webster, SR, Love, Cielo, etc.. Would like to see Pacha improve for a better experience..

It may not be my favorite club, but it is a club, one of the biggest clubs in the city, so losing it, and I hate to say this, would be like losing another crobar. I want to see more clubs in the city, not less. There are actually pros to Pacha, but I can name more cons than pros, so thats why I dont talk too well about Pacha. I still go to Pacha when great events happen there tho, so I dont want to see it go down completely.

That being said, Pacha can improve, and when I start noticing that they are trying at the least to improve some of their services, Ill stop talking negatively. But do I want a PACHA permanent shutdown? NO.

FYI, I learned last night from staff that Cielo's closing down from the end of the month (like 2-3 weeks from now) until August 21.

Thanks NYPD...

So under what grounds can the police shut down clubs like this?
