What happened?? |
I don't know. I was talking to one of the security guys outside and I think I mentioned Pacha being shut down and he said that they were going to be closed down for a month. I asked why and he just said NYPD, so I didn't pry further.
I don't know when the last time you were there was, but both last night and for James Zabiela a few weeks ago, they made everyone empty their pockets going in and gave a pretty heavy pat down, when for years they had no security checks going in. |

Last time I was there, Paco Osuna was supposed to play but his plane never made it to NY, so Adultnapper played all night. I was enraged, so I demanded a refund after they searched my bag, pockets, shoes... everything. They almost kept my Percs, but gave them a good sob story, lol. This happened a few weeks after they got shut down, they were supposedly being investigated for drugs and made a lot of arrests and other clubs were shut down that same weekend as Cielo. If I'm not mistaken, it was Nov last year.
I knew it was a matter of time until Cielo had to close its doors since the retarded security was put in place. |

FYI, I learned last night from staff that Cielo's closing down from the end of the month (like 2-3 weeks from now) until August 21. |
Looks like Madeevent has their talent coming to Cielo before and after the closing down period. |

If you go to Cielo's website that hasn't been updated to reflect the new news, there are Made Events listed during the period that I was told they would be closed. Also, on Made's site, D. Ramirez is listed during that period. I'd like to say that this could be incorrect info, but after hearing it from one staff member, I got it confirmed by another that I talked to later in the night. I'd honestly love for someone to tell me that I'm wrong in this instance.
BTW, I completely agree with BradMiller, I'm personally going to be devastated if Cielo has problems re-opening following this ridiculousness. It's been, by far, my favorite venue for about 5 years. Unlike many other places, it's not changed much over time. Pacha used to not be a complete hole for awhile, but it now is mostly unbearable. I like Love, but it's a different vibe. I've never seen people looking like they may be ready to pass out at Cielo. |

| Agreed - easily one of my favorite spots in the city. No bs, just good people, kick ass drinks, and a stellar soundsystem. Love Love and Sullivan Room just as much, but there have been so many great nights at Cielo - Chris Liebing, Ferry Corsten, Laidback Luke, David Guetta, Steve Angello, Dubfire, Roger Sanchez etc... it would be really devastating if it closed. Let us pray... |

Is it too difficult to understand that a shutdown is not good in any way to anybody????
Let the G heads stay in pacha and webster hall, the last thing needed is having our favourite places infested by these parasites.
Besides, a club getting shut down sets a horrible precedent for what is to come for NYC nightlife. Just like a place we hate gets shut down, a place we love could get shut down the following weekend. Let's pray like this doesn't happen. |

| Don't the cops have more to worry about? Our city has the highgest crime rate in 2 decades, and we're worrying about kids dancing? |

+1, I completely agree with this, a permanent shutdown is not good at all, even if the club is a club we are not a big fan of. |

To: All the idiots wishing for the demise of any club in NYC, or any city for that matter.
Subj: You are retarded
Body: Please be advised, wishing for the downfall of any club in New York City, or any city for that matter; Your favorite room / lounge / club will be next. Believe it. Wishing for a police state is counteractive, and only shows your immaturity. Clubland has always been about making money. Check yourself and your comments and why you are wishing the downfall of Pacha, or Cielo, because of one bad experience there, where you weren't treated like royalty, and rather like a piece of cattle. Clubs aren't there to cater to your every whim and desire. It's a business. Remember that.
